Everything else aside, which candidate will make Americans feel safest?

The Republicans are going to play their usual fear cards. Which candidate do you think Americans will trust to protect them?

That said, Biden is the most tough-talkinest white guy available, so he would probably be the best 'security' candidate.

3. Joe Biden by far. Not only is he tough, he knows how to talk to

people everywhere and is greatly admired by many. Let's review the contacting Biden first before Bush, Condi, etc. Tells you something. Biden exudes an aura of confidence that one would find hard to ignore. Biden for me, all the way... Go Joe!!

4. Kucinich. Republicans are good at demonizing the 'other'..

And very good at creating the illusion for many Americans that they will protect us from this outside enemy by being eager to play the Hitlerian card of vowing to pre-emptively strike the potential threat before it strikes us. The truth is, the threat in this country is internal. The radical group that helped spawn W have practically dismantled The Constitution, undone or corrupted many of the social programs FDR instituted and have been diverting money from the middle class to the top 5% for decades now. I think some in this group were in on the JFK assasination, as crazy as that sounds. I don't trust most 'insiders' in the U.S. political realm, because they are knowingly or unknowingly aiding and abetting this group. That's why I think Kucinch would best protect us from the REAL threat.

6. I'd have to go with Biden, based on experience, knowledge, and judgment.

He's the one Democrat who can cleanly make the case that he's in a better position to keep the nation safe than any Republican running. He's also the only one with a real plan for getting us out of Iraq, one that garnered 75% support from the entire Senate, including half of the Republicans. I would argue that he'd even be endorsed by Republican Sen. Chuck Hagel who recently stated that he couldn't say if he'd be supporting a Republican in the general election. Him and Joe Biden are good friends and have worked together on the foreign relations committee for a long time. I can't imagine Hagel supporting any of the other Democratic candidates. If Joe Biden gets the Democratic nomination, Joe Biden will be our next president.

Stress feel - I'd say Biden. That's not to say other Dem candidates couldn't actually make Americans safer, as would Biden.

8. Biden or Clinton among the Democrats

Biden has seniority and experience in spades, Clinton comes acrioss as savy and tough, plus she has a two term popular former President as her partner.

If you narrow it down to the question you ask, no one else comes close. Richardson perhaps might if he were better known. There is a minority of Americans who would feel safest with Kucinich, but for most it woud be Biden or Clinton among the Democrats.

McCain might actually score the highsst for most Americans.

She's been working hard on building up her image of being strong on national security, and it's going to pay off if she runs in the general election. Has she had to look a little more hawkish than what many of her naysayers here would like? Yes, but this is exactly why she's done it, to be able to compete in the game of who can best protect the country in a time of emergency. Whoever goes up against the Republican war machine is going to have to be able to convince the sheep that Democrats can protect them just as well as repukes can.

Any of the GOP candidates will make people feel safe. The correct question is: Which candidate will make Americans actually be safe?
