Cafferty Unimpressed With Streisand Endorsement.. |
|
CNN's Jack Cafferty, who made his anti-Iraq war, anti-Bush administration stance clear on Monday's "The Situation Room," rolled his eyes at Barbara Streisand's endorsement of Hillary Clinton on Tuesday's program. His characterization of the news: "Reclusive, neurotic, over-the-hill vocalist endorses Hillary. I mean, is the ground supposed to shake now, and lightning bolts fly out of the sky. Who cares!?"
Cafferty made the comments just before the top of the 5 pm Eastern hour of Tuesday's "The Situation Room." Two minutes earlier, as part of the "Political Ticker" feature on CNN, host Wolf Blitzer read a brief about the sometimes-retired singer's plug for the former First Lady. This prompted a question from Cafferty as he prepared to read the viewer responses to his 'Question of the Hour' for the 4 pm Eastern hour. "Give me a hand with something. What exactly does the Streisand endorsement represent?" Blitzer responded, "It means that Barbara Streisand, great singer, is supporting Hillary Clinton." This prompted Cafferty's "reclusive, neurotic" line.

3. It does put Streisand's name out just in time for the Holidays |
|
Free advertising like this for her might get her some revenue to go toward her Final Final Final Final Final Concert...

and not a huge fan of Barbra Streisand, but Jack is a curmudgeony old asshole. I know he's anti-war and all that, but he's still a curmudgeony old asshole.
So, Cafferty apparently doesn't like Hillary. Reclusive, neurotic, over-the-hill Wolfie sidekick doesn't endorse Hillary. I mean, is the ground supposed to shake now, and lightning bolts fly our of the sky? Who cares?
Edit: Oops, curmudgeony doesn't have an "l" in it, does it?

5. Hey frogmarch, don't hold back.tell us how you really feel about Cafferty! hee Hee! |
|
I agree this is a big "so what" but I find it humorous as her endorsement is actually "feared' by many Dems so it is hilarious that the "alleged" front runner got it!:hi:

although I didn't know Barbra's endorsement was so important to, and even feared by, some people. I don't get why. Sure, Babs is a staunch Dem, but still.
Jack's abrasiveness really gets me sometimes, and even though he's anti-war and critical of Bush, he isn't very kind to Dems either. It wouldn't surprise me if he slammed our other candidates at some point too.

7. Well, Streisand has a fierce following . |
|
I recall waiting in line for Elvis Costello tickets the same day Streisand tickets went on sale (mid 1990s), and that was one enthusiastic line.
Oprah and Streisand = The Battle of the Titans.
I have no problem with people working to drum up the vote. It is important to get people involved in the democratic process.
