IF Hillary Blows It, Would it be the Greatest Political Upset In History? |
|
I happen to support Mrs. Clinton and believe that all this hype about her "floundering" candidacy is just that, hype. The media needs something to talk about.
But I am a sucker for hypotheticals and "what ifs" so if after the 3 year drum of Hillary's inevitability as the Democratic nominee, if she beefs it, can you think of a grander fall from political grace?

And was very upset when he fell, but he was never the imposing national figure that Hillary is.
Very few people are.
I just can't find in my head an analogous situation should she not get the nomination.

17. You must realize that at least half the Dems and well over half |
|
the voting populace do not see Hillary as an "imposing national figure". She's been the media's nominee, and a great number of real people would not be surprised at all at her not living up to the hype - would, in fact, be very surprised if she DID live up to the hype.

3. I personally would be very pleased. |

I didn't like her smug answer to Katie Couric that she IS GOING TO win the nomination, no doubts. A little humility would be a nice thing.

10. well, considering that she's a pretty lame candidate (IMO) |
|
I don't think it would be all that earth shattering. I would much prefer someone more progressive than GOP-lite Hillary.

11. She's not going to win Iowa. In two weeks that will be apparent |
|
the problem is that the Campaign decided on this juggernaut strategy ( "Inevitable") which set the bar so high that anything except a resounding win will be perceived as "Blowing it".
Look for lots of statements respecting the Iowa voter and downplaying any possible 2nd or 3rd place finish as respectable, and focusing on Hew Hampshire where the news might be better.

candidate we will have another Republican President. We let the MSM pick our candidate in 2004 and we got Bush.

16. In politics, predictions made three years out seldom if ever bear fruit. |

So historically speaking it wouldn't be unusual.

21. She may or may not win Iowa, |
|
but she will win nonetheless the nomination. She's the only candidate who does not need a win in Iowa to still be very viable. Barring any unforeseen circumstance, Hillary will be the Democratic nominee.
