Poll question: (DU poll) Olbermann's Worst Person in the World: Giuliani vs. Washington Post's Perry Bacon?
Edited on Thu Nov-29-07 09:10 PM by antiimperialist
I am not watching Olbermann right now, so I don't know if the award was already given, but my candidates for today's award are Rudy Giuliani, for having New Yorkers pay for police to escort and wait for him while he did his thing in Judy Nathan's condo while he was married; and Perry Bacon, author of the most unfounded, idiotic, hitjob I have seen in the Washington Post. He simply repeated "rumors" by right-wing types that Obama is a "muslim" and/or a "muslim plant". He noted that the fact-checking website Snopes once discussed an email smearing Obama, but did not include the fact that Snopes concluded it was false. The piece was strongly criticized here, http://mediamatters.org/items/200711290005?f=h_top">here, here, and here in DU.
Anyways, what's your pick?
If none of them wins today, write to letters@msnbc.com and suggest your "favorite".

1. It's a toss up,
but I think KO will go with Rudy. (He started the program with his latest fraud)

2. Keith's award tonight was to Billo
for his continued efforts to flog the War on Christmas, when he's ignorant enough to think the Book of Revelation was written about 5,000 years ago.

He did play up the Rudy's Love Shack (and Love Sheik) stories bigtime though. Hasn't gotten around to the WaPo Obama-smearing yet.

4. I would have made it Bacon's editor who placed the story on page 1.
Bacon obviously wrote a story that The Post wanted, but he didn't designate it for the front page. That was the editor, and he or she is the worst person. By far.

Good luck
