Poll question: When speaking, who comes off as more uplifting, more realistic, & more sincere-all at the same time?
...and more down to earth, too?

Both of these guys are getting tons of chances to speak during the Primaries and the numerous debates. If one happens to get the nod, I think it's important that we find out pretty soon which one is going to be taken more seriously if and when they get the opportunity to start speaking as our candidate in the General Election.

After the Primaries are done, which one of these guys will be the Democratic candidate who is taken more seriously by Average Joe Voter when it comes to being uplifting, realistic, down to earth, and sincere?

1. Edwards comes off as more uplifting and realistic
Not very sincere though. Obama only comes off as uplifting, to me he doesn't come off as very realistic or sincere. I voted Edwards.

selections. Neither one is nasty enough to beat the underhanded, devious, arrogant, lying, and yes...criminal Pubs!

9. Edwards
As a plaintiff's lawyer he has literally made a living by his spoken word... No other Democrat can claim that...If he didn't persuade folks he was right he didn't eat...That's an empirical observation and not any kind of endorsement...

13. The theory you state in your post holds no water
The most popular people here are DK and Edwards

If that were the reason, then why is it that Dennis Kucinich, who is my own personal favorite, btw, doesn't do well on most of our polls?

Hey, it's not my fault that so far in this poll people think Edwards will be taken more seriously than Obama when he speaks. If you don't think Edwards deserves to be taken as seriously, then you could at least explain why.

12. Biden.
and he has the record to back it up.

Out of those two, Obama is the most sincere. Edwards' heart is in the right place, but there is a disconnect between his words and his actions that doesn't sit right with me.

16. Edwards is firm, deferential, respectful and always uses preceding statements to make
sure the listener understands his view and position.

He doesn't drone on in wonkish style, and he reiterates, and formulates on a higher plane, and with a broader vision.

20. Well said
Just wondering, though, if you think Edwards demeaner when he speaks during the primaries will translate as well during the general election. If so, that would be a very good thing.

19. Biden
Biden would come across hands-down as the most uplifting, realistic, down to earth, and sincere to the broadest audience. And experienced and knowledgeable to boot.

Among progressives, he and Edwards would be a split decision.

If you want to win the GE by a landslide, nominate Biden. Or go with anyone else and plan on having a fight on your hands, probably with Huckabee.

What's interesting about just an audio file is that it takes away the whole visual play and body language. Also not having booing and such adds to the civil tone of the debate.

Biden is the strongest speaker to face a Republican.

But out of the poll options, I think Obama sounds more sincere than Edwards.
