The timing of the NIE report is interesting. They have known about this |
|
information for years. Why now? I think they are regretful of staying quiet while BushCorp twisted the intel to support the illegal invasion of Iraq. They have decided to no longer be complicit. And they (intel agencies) want it very clear what the intel is so some people, she will remain nameless, can't later say "if I only knew then".
It may take a military coup to stop the BushCorp march to war in Iran.

3. A Military Coup destroys the Constituiton... |
|
That runs counter to the military oath to protect and defend the Constitution.
I've never believed in the concept that in order to save something you have to destroy it. Were the military to choose to do something like that, I would have to advocate they all be tried for treason, if you can meet the Constitutional requirements for the charge.
Rather than going that route, it is time for the citizens to take to the streets. If the French can have nationwide strikes and protests then we can.

the first Coup occurred in 2000 and was repeated in 2004. Perhaps the military/Intelligence realized the cost of silence. Doesn't bu$h seem like he is intent on breaking down the military by his repeated tours of duty, poor body armor and cuts in their benefits, in favor of private companies like Blackwater (read: loyal to him)? Perhaps they said enough is enough-time to shed light on what is occurring.
Remember it was b/c who have eroding our constitutional rights, while profiting at the expense of the military and taxpayers.

6. You can call it a Counter Coup if you like... |
|
But a military coup destroys the Constitution. The American people, have the power to stop this. We have the right to protest, the right to petition or government. The only Conter Coup that works is to get enough people to the polls that they can't steal it.
2000 worked becasue it came down to a single state controled by a Republican. IF just 1%, about 3 million more people had voted nation wide, Gore would have won with a Comfortable margin bringing in those close states. 2% would likley have made it a landslide. It is the apathetic idiots who refuse to get off their duff and make a choice that allowed the Bush administration to continue.
The military has no constititutional role in an election or a change of government. To hope that they will ride in like John Wayne and save our baccon like in one of those old movies is hoping for tyrany.
An active electorate is the only remedy to tyrany and the only Coup we need.

12. I certainly agree a military coup is not the best workings of a Democracy. |
|
And I realize there is a significant risk with a coup. However, when you look at where we are at and the prospects of returning to our free republic, it may be our only hope. The fact that the complete republican party supports this move to tyranny and most of the Democratic party is unwilling or uncaring to do anything about it doesn't look good.
How do you suggest we pull ourselves out of this mess. And please spare me the rhetoric about voting them out. You can't. The system is stacked against you. Incumbents can not be replaced via a primary.

8. First, the Constitution has already taken some good hits. How long will you let this mad man run us |
|
into oblivion? Take to the streets? What does that mean? I have been in the streets. Hate to tell you, but they have guns, spray, tasers, and they have already used them. They have concentration camps ready. So do you think that a revolution is better than a coup? And tell me how a nation wide strike will hurt BushCorp?

5. I agree this seems to be an intell revolt. But, who timed the release? |
|
Was the timing at the discretion of the intells or the administration? Either way it is proof that the intell are speaking out, pre-empting an attack this time.
If it was up to the intell agencies to time the release, I fear we may have been very close to a bombing campaign, and they had to intercede now.
If it were up to the administration to time the release, I wonder what they are distracting us from. Waxman sniffing around the Plame/Treason? Leahy declaring Rove/Bolton in contempt for the USA's firing? One person who has benefited from this is Rudy. This was going to be his week to fall. If anything, it just put off the inevitable.

9. Because BushCorp was so unprepared to respond to the report, I think the intel released the |
|
report to prevent or dampen the chances of BushCorp starting a war. Once the war is started, it would more difficult for them to release the report. It would look damaging to our war effort. I think they were caught holding the bag when we went to war in Iraq.
Respectfully disagree that Rudy was aided by this release. Personally I think all this trashing of repub candidates is premature. It would be much more effective after the candidate is chosen. Some of this will be old news by then.

11. Just throwing this out there - may be way off |
|
but might this have somwthing to do with the recent destabilization of Pakistan? The ISI has served as a CIA branch office of sorts since the late 70s, and the CIA has longstanding contacts and assets. They may be trying protect their networka? Ig Musharraf falls, there could be a completee strategic reorientation,
Or, a more plausible answer might be that Cbeney spent a year tryigng to get the spooks to be more aggressive - Maybne they decided to indulge his kind wishees.
Or maybe the CIA was asked to do a political hit job that any politician might be too scared to involves with. Cheney's a giant cloud of doom, and they'd be wise to have him as far away as possible. Or, maybe there's another scandl out waiting to break but thats why we need a qarm-up act,

10. I think Darth and Dumbya made the big mistake of pissing off the CIA |
|
Iraq intell, Plame, and so on. Spooks don't need to get revenge right away; they take their time and do it right. There's some reason they did it now, but we can only speculate. Could be that it was timed to head off bombing Iran. Could be other reasons. I won't be at all surprised if there is more to come over the next months.
