I heard that almost 80% of toys are manufactured in China, although I've not looked for confirmation and it does not matter if that number is cut in half, if your child is one of those who are harmed...or your pet :(
Corporations pushed hard for that bill, it was a very close vote in the House and several amendments were defeated so that the bill need not be tested again in the House.
Not to mention the jobs lost and our increased deficit with China.
Only one Democratic candidate voted no on the bill :)
