Krugman says he was motivated by Obama's promotion of right-wing memes
And I was prepared to leave it at that — Obama’s plan was weaker than his rivals’ because it wasn’t universal, but I hoped that he would fix that in practice.

But then Obama started attacking his rivals from the right, denouncing their proposals using exactly the same false claims that conservatives will use to try to derail reform in the future.

And now, having been caught out on the facts, the Obama people respond with a personal attack, lifting quotes out of context to pretend that I never had problems with the plan. Something is very wrong here.

9. Krugman doesn't understand, Obama will be our new American Idol
And he just needs to start accepting that. Get in the way of his tour bus, and he'll run you over.

12. Obama ALWAYS attacks from the right.
Democrats have "failed to acknowledge the power of faith in people's lives"
Gays need to accept that some "good, moral, decent" evangelicals think that they "kill children"
Americans need to deal consider privatizing social security.
The Unions need to accept that he needs to use an anti-union facility.
Liberal Babyboomers are responsible for the culture war, not rightwing wackos. Like we should all be singing Kum-Ba-Ya with Ann Coulter, James Dobson, and the ghost of Milton Friedman. No wonder why Oprah likes Obama he's the political Dr. Phil.

At least Hillary votes for something before she votes against it. This guy doesn't vote the first time around. He just tells you how he "would have voted" if he actually did his goddamned job. How do I know what he would "really" vote for when he chooses to shirk his duties. I mean, after all, he has NO IDEOLOGY. Meaning he doesn't believe in shit.

So these are our top two candidates? Someone who can't decide between diamonds and pearls and someone who thinks that even "hoping" is "audacious"? Hell, at least Kerry and Edwards told us that Hope is On the Way!!! And now the motto is "dare to hope"??? We're going backwards.

The last thing we need is MORE CAPITULATION TO THE RIGHT. I don't need to meet them half way and "heal" any more than Jews in Nazi Germany had to meet the SS "half way." Any more than democrats killed by Pinochet should have "listened to his side of things". We don't need to pick daisies with the Klan or go honkytonkin' with Stormfront.

I don't want to sit down and contemplate my common humanity with Sean Hannity. I want a president who will stand up to these bastards and say NO! NO MORE! NO FURTHER!

Wrong is wrong. The Iraq war is wrong. Making claims that "gays kill children" on television is wrong. NAFTA is wrong. Crossing picket lines is wrong. Burning the constitution is wrong. Torture is wrong. Millions of Americans with no health care is wrong.

This isn't rocket science.

Any Democrat but Obama (and Hillary)

13. no obama or clinton!
I tend to agree with you. I think Obama is "shapable," but that he isn't discriminating enough as to whom he seeks out as "shapers." Witness his choice of Liebermann as mentor x(. I haven't trusted Clinton for years, since her glomming onto the Iraq war thrust. She may not be as slick as Willy, but she sure tries to stay on all 58 sides of the fence at once.

Kucinich!!!

Edwards!!!

Our best hopes. I'd love Kucinich's numbers to be higher, but I haven't given up hope altogether. Edwards at least has a better chance. I love his "let's get rid of corporate control" stance.

Biden? In the pockets of the credit card companies, and who knows how many others ...

regards,
donilo

14. Welcome donilo!
Yes, I totally forgot about the support of Lieberman. That really pisses me off. Rank and file Democrats get lambasted for supporting a 3rd party candidate, but when Lieberman loses, the Democratic party refuses to back the DEMOCRAT. Disgusting. This system is a disaster.

Kucinich and Edwards are the only ones who make a damn bit of sense-- I mean AT ALL. And I trust DK more than JE.

16. the perverse thing is he is viewed as a progressive savior instead of a charming Lieberman...
by many progressives. If you were given copies of statements by either you wouldn't be able to tell if it came from Lieberman or Obama...
