After watching Michael Moore's SICKO |
|
The US is the most punishing to the poor: children, mothers, older people, those politically powerless. Canada, England and France are more humane...not this country...pride? in what wealth? What a Godless nation...and you Dominionist fundies have the nerve to call yourself's Christian after backing the rich and politically powerful. I feel no pride in this country.

1. Hey, don't be too hard on the fundies. |

I'm sure that when they see the collection cans on the store counters, they probably drop in a quarter or two. I'm almost positive that when people throw bake sales to pay for their sick child, they are there to buy the cookies. And I'm almost positive that they pray as hard as they can that the sick one will get well.
And if the family loses their home because of illness, well, it's their own damn fault.

WHy aren't you proud? WHich is it, the fake religion, fake morality, fake holidays, fake charity, fake food, fake clothes or fake music that's brought this on?
This country is starting to smell like the docks at low tide. I'm getting tired of it. I pray we get a new president who might inspire and lead us to better things.
We're in a slump big time.

republican backed insurance companies ... boggles the mind. anyone who is not a republican, or otherwise a member of congress, or in the bush administration, knows the score if they've had to visit a doctor's office, a hospital emergency room, or is paying for an HMO or other insurance premium. And those who don't even have insurance, or have been refused treatment by their insurances, or have had their doctors or hospitals pull out of their insurances provider panels' they really know the score.
and so... who needs to watch sicko... why, the most compassionate/conservative souls on the planet who happen to be those who do not give a damn 'bout you or me. namely the bush family and the rest of their republican ilk.

Absolutely sickening. The former British MP was very insightful. He said that in true democracies, the government is afraid of its people. Not this government -- they get away with the abuse because they've made the people afraid of them with "terra terra terra", encouraging debt, and making basic rights like medical care available only to people who can afford it. In countries like France, Britain, and Canada, there's a culture of "WE", but here, it's a culture of "ME".
The people are partly to blame; many of them allowed this to happen by being complacent. They became self-centered and selfish. They bought the BS spewed by manipulative Republicans. They stopped feeling responsible for their fellow citizenship.
Now it's up to us to change it, by making people understand that Republicans do not believe in democracy.
