Aren't we lucky?
We are so lucky in the Democratic Party. We have three very good leading candidates. While Kucinich is my first choice, I recognize that the electorate on a national level elects moderates. Well, in Hillary, Obama, and Edwards we have three moderates who are liberal on social issues, at least a little to the left of Bill Clinton.

Initially, I supported Edwards because of his outspokenness about poverty, but ultimately with three good candidates, I decided, why not give a woman or a black man a chance? The appeal of Hillary, honestly, is that a victory for her would be the biggest F.U. to the right wing we could possibly deliver and, with Bill at her side, she would know how to manage the Congress and be able to fast-track a Democrat agenda and a sane foreign policy. The appeal of Obama is he represents something new in the same way JFK did, plus he's a tad more liberal than Hillary. Personally, both of them have drawbacks. For me, Obama comes out of the mold of Kerry and Gore in that he takes himself too seriously, while Hillary, like her husband, is too calculating.

At any rate, whichever candidate wins, I'll be pleased. Right now, I'm undecided between Hillary and Obama. I think they'd be a great ticket together, whichever one is VP.

1. The appeal of Hillary, honestly, is that a victory for her would be the biggest F.U. to the right wi
That is probably the most compelling argument for hillary I have read yet!

Almost made me forgo all the things I don't like about her.

Almost.

Over all though I gotta agree. I love our field this time arround.

3. A Hillary "fuck you" to the RtWing would pale in comparison
to the kind of fuck you that a Kucinich nomination and presidency would represent ... I mean .. come on...

Hillary has reportedly been successfully "back-doored" by Neocon insiders to dampen her opposition to the Iraq war.
so her "fuck you" would be more show than substance.

5. Yeah, but ...
A Kucinich fuck you would be directed all the corporate interests. A Hillary fuck you would be directed at the entire political sleaze machine of the right.

6. I disagree. Dennis's fuck you would be much more devastating and comprehensive
Me thinks the tea leaves say the Neocons would love nothing better than to have Hillary as the nominee, or maybe even President ... to clean up
their messes, and provide a place-holder and some plausible deniability whiles they regroup for their next onslaught on what's left of our Treasury
and Constitution.

2. I largely agree with your comments
I don't really see Obama taking himself too seriously. Oprah disproves that! :D

Like you, I was initially for Edwards, largely because of poverty.

I'm sticking.

I admit it would be exciting to have a black president or woman president, but I think Edwards would be the best president, even if he is a white guy. So, I'm sticking with him.

I used to really like Bill Clinton, and defended him on DU, but lately the Clintons, I don't really like that much.

Of all the candidates, I may vote for Kucinich. It depends on the February climate. ;)

4. for me, i fail to see obama as a young JFK ... and as for hillary,
yes ... her win would give her biggest enemy, one george herbert walker bush, a gigantic gas attack, and i am for that (that aside, i am for hillary just because i am for hillary).
