Folks, Obama threw down today in SC |
|
He was so absorbed in his walk-through of his SEIU workday-in-Oakland experience and how he will fight to advance the basic dreams of all working people that he almost forgot where he was for a second. Never seen anything quite like it.
Those of you who doubt his commitment to progressive values, watch the re-run. Not saying you have to agree with me on this candidate, just watch a great speech by a great Democrat.
Cheers.

1. I know you won't agree, but I thought his speech was of the most un-inspiring variety |
|
considering all the hype and planning that went into the event.

2. Well, he did fail to announce his cure for cancer |
|
which, have to admit, I found disappointing.

Who in their right mind wouldn't? Do you really need Oprah to decide for you how you're gonna vote? |

11. The ones protesting too much are the ones who object to hearing differing points of view |
|
Don't ever be afraid, K Gardner, to offer a differing point of view. That only encourages more mediocrity.

6. i noticed oprah was feeling the spirit today |
|
and did a really good job in speaking in front of a large group. obama is not a really good public speaker but that really does`t matter in the real world. it`s what is thought behind his words that really matter. here`s no touching obama`s crew for putting on a show...

7. I thought the speech was inspiring and articulate.. and he's not even "my" guy! |
|
Obama has "it", however you define IT. I watched the speech yesterday, and he was definitely caught up in this one. His story about doing home care for an amputee was personal and reverent. His story about Greenwood - (a little town in the middle of nowhere SC where I spent 3 months!) was personal and relevant. I take issue with the people here who have been consistently dissing the whole event without even considering that this IS a monumental time in the history of our country. Let's not forget, Obama is one of the GOOD GUYS. He is one of us. He is, without a shadow of a doubt, a Democrat. And he's second on my "short list" :-)

14. I'm sorry, but I only saw IT at the dem convention |
|
when he spoke. I have been looking for IT from him, since then and haven't been able to find IT. After a long time, especially for a DU'er, I went for Edwards. He may not have IT, but he has plans that are detailed and not just a balloon of hope.
