Is Oprah going to be Obama's running mate?
It's looking that way. Oprah is almost a media conglomerate all unto herself. I just wonder if it would bother anyone if Rupert Murdock put his full weight and influence behind a candidate (presumably a Republican). A celebrity endorsement is one thing, but it makes me a little nervous to consider the precedent this establishes. Will future presidential elections be determined by which candidate can land the support of the most influential media star? We just continue traveling further and further down that road that most Americans consider to be the wrong road.

1. Of course not. Where'd you get that idea? She likes and supports him,
just like Streisand supports Clinton and Penn supports Kucinich. How'd you get running mate out of that?

2. Don't be silly.
Oprah would never go into Politics. She's got it all now, why would she want to screw that up and inherit all that heartache?

5. No, she's never even endorsed anyone before. So you think she's going to
suddenly want to get into elective politics?

7. It is a little over the top. And I agree with you about
the media/celebrity factor... elections seem more and more like American Idol.

11. Few people have the money, power, and influence that Oprah has.
She's one of America's richest woman, and most influential. That's the part that concerns me. It wouldn't if it was just another celebrity endorsement. That would be nothing new. This is.

19. So you find it unfathomable that someone as influential as Oprah is telling the truth
when she says she's campaigning for him because she's never been moved by a politician like she is by him?

21. Warren Buffet does
He's doing an event for Hillary. George Soros put money into Howard Dean's campaign, raised money for him. Barbara Streisand has one it for years.

Why is this a problem when Oprah does it. Why is it okay to dump on the black woman?

12. What I can't understand is
if you are only supposed to contribute so much how come Oprah gets to funnel all this money into the campaign. If you remember there was a bit**ing fit sometime ago about a guy raising too much money for Hillary and Oprah is GIVING ALL THIS TO THE CAMPAIGN. But then it just depends on WHICH ONE is getting the money.

23. Pray tell, how much has Oprah given Obama? You keep alluding to that
with no back-up. A link would be nice.

15. Is Kevin Bacon going to be Edwards' running mate? Don't be ridiculous.
Sometimes someone is just being honest when they say they have been inspired to campaign for a candidate.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Obama offer her a spot in the cabinet if he wins. Maybe national security advisor or something.

Funny he didn't get shit on for it. Nor did Maya Angelou. Or her bigoted SC campaign co-chairs.
