Clinton Direct-Mail piece sent to Iowa voters attacks Obama's lack of Universal Health Care
http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/msnbc/sections/news/071211_Vilsack0110.pdf

*** Enter Vilsack and Krugman: Speaking of negative or contrast advertising, the Clinton campaign has a new direct mail piece that includes a letter from former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack (D). The letter hits Obama on health care and uses Paul Krugman to do the hitting. Vilsack says in the letter, "Barack Obama's health care plan, which he often calls 'universal,' would actually leave as many as 15 million people without health insurance. That's not really universal coverage at all. And when questioned about the flaws of the plan, Mr. Obama threw back talking points worthy of Rudy Giuliani or Mitt Romney. But don't take my word for it; read the opinion of Paul Krugman of the New York Times in his op-ed piece entitled, ‘Mandates and Mudslinging.’” Of course, this is nothing that the campaign and candidate hasn't said themselves. But it's also telling that six months ago, the predictions were that the final weeks of the debate in Iowa would be over Iraq. Instead, it's over health care -- or at least that’s what Team Clinton wants to discuss.

1. shameful as usual of hrc campaign --- hers is merely universal INSURANCE plan --- not health care
and speaking of "mandates" - what shill sh*t is this???

since when do mandates work? ask the auto insurance industry, and ask those hit by a car that was "insured" just long enough to get plate renewals ... mandates will be passed by congress in what century, exactly???? all smoke and mirrors this HRC stuff

2. Clinton Campaign would be smart to stay on Obama's lack
of experience. All this picky little shots are just that-do not
matter. Her experience makes her he more reassuring. His Wall
Street Connections just like hers. Find a way to remind the
people of just what the next President faces.

3. I much prefer Obama over Hillary, but I have no problem with comparative campaigning on the issues.
The truth is that Obama's health care plan is NOT as good as Hillary's (it is also true that Hillary's is not as good as Edwards's or Kucinich's).

5. No doubt about that. Edwards plan is a distant 2nd but is still way better than Hillary's or Obama's
