Joe Biden On Dick Cheney’s State Of Denial |
|
Sen. Joe Biden today issued the following statement in response to news reports that Vice President Cheney “predicted Iraq will be a self-governing democracy by the time he leaves office,” and called “the current U.S. surge strategy ‘a remarkable success story’ that will be studied for years to come”:
“It’s no wonder the Vice President would say that. Between the hidden meetings with Halliburton on energy, the warrantless wiretapping of Americans, and the vague definitions of torture he uses, Vice President Cheney wouldn’t know a working democracy if he fell over it.
“The Vice President remains in a state of total denial. The stated purpose of the surge was to buy time for political progress in Iraq."

41. It's a catch 22 for them... If they address Biden's pounding fusillade, |
|
they only enable him on the way to the nomination. They must be gagging on their own bile.
I think they'd desperately want HC or BO as the dem's candidate, whom they probably (mistakenly, I would think) believe one of their party's clowns can beat.

I see Biden's strategy as using impeachment as leverage to hopefully head-off an attack against Iran - FWIW. At least Bush knows there will be some resistance from Congress this time.

9. Would war crimes be faster? |
|
I have a question for those who are savvy on these procedures.
Can Frit and Frat still be charged and convicted AFTER they leave office? Not only on war crimes, as I'm sure that is a lifetime possibility, but on crimes while in office? We can't forgive and forget...and shouldn't, if they can be proven, if for no other reason than as a lesson for our children. What they will be seeing, hearing and reading about in their history books, will be how this cabal was so corrupt, but were able to continue without conviction. Sets quite a precedent, doesn't it? "Hey! I can do that! It must be legal, as the prez got by with it!" Super!

want it to stop there -- to let them trot off to their respective hideaways in Paraguay and Dubai and live like kings happily ever after. I want them to PAY for what they've done. They have DESTROYED the United States, our relationship with the world, are responsible for killing THOUSANDS of people -- I want them to suffer.

Meanwhile, instead of attacking the other Dem candidates, he's attacking our real problem in the White House. I think he knows what people really want to hear.

"People tune out to the same old political jargon." When you're able to quote their speeches, word for word, it's time to either change the speech or switch candidates, because the one you've been watching doesn't have much new to say.
Since Joe hasn't been campaigning that long in Iowa, his speeches are fresh. But, I think he is at his best when he throws out the notes and talks off the top of his head. People don't care that much if all the words are correct, but are more concerned about what his thoughts are in regard to this mess in Washington. It's past time to be polite about this cabal in Washington.
Also, the fact he isn't that involved with the Washington in-crowd, is a real plus. Joe seems to be the type who comes to work in the morning, does his work and heads back to his family. I'm sure he's heard a good deal of how they operate, though.
