Who's your copilot?
If I'm the next president :P then I want a great copilot as I travel the globe to re-kindle old friendships.

I can think of no better copilot than William Jefferson Clinton.

8. NO, dogs aren't as dependable as you think
Sally, my border collie, is my copilot. I taught her how to drive and that has given me no end of grief. She does well most of the time, but when we pass a herd of cattle or a band of sheep she forgets everything and focuses on the livestock. It's gotten so bad lately that she is now even distracted by damn cats. She keeps going at this rate, I'll be forced to fire her and place her back in the pick-up bed.

Sally is really getting the hang of navigation and using road maps, although she has difficultly folding them away correctly.

42. She does, but that's not her problem
It's her nose and wet tongue that get in her way. She's becoming obsessive about this whole thing. She's started wearing a damn pancake on her head and tells me it's her new driving cap. What an idiot she is at times, bordering on becoming nut case, but I kinda like her moxie nevertheless.

17. I couldn't agree more.
I bought that book in a Goodwill store for 25 cents just because I thought the cover was cool...I would have never guessed that I'd end up reading it like every 6 months or so.

Hey, if you've never read "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" I highly recommend it. Not similar at all to ACOD, but just another one of my fave books.

19. Wow! I looked up that book and after reading the synopsis, I realized that I have that book!!
Edited on Tue Dec-11-07 04:47 PM by BrklynLiberal
I read it a long time ago. Now I will have to find it and reread it!!
I kind of thought that title was familiar, but could not be sure until I read the synopsis.

Small world/synchronicity..

I thought I remembered the cover as being light blue....

22. I just checked my copy, and it is blue. I think I bought it in England.
Maybe they had a different cover for different countries.

Jesus, I just realized the cover of the one I have has a PITCHFORK sticking out of the dog!

OK, now you have to recommend a book for me.

36. Just read it last month...
I'm now going to read the rest of Larson's work.

With regard to White City, my only complaint was that the book could have benefitted from the use of photographs -- particularly of the World's Fair site and buildings. I mentioned this to a colleague, who has a father who is an architect/packrat, and he had a book from 1898 featuring oversized "official" photographs of the World's Fair.

It must have been an incredible sight, but I can see why it would have made Frank Lloyd Wright want to hurl!

24. Babe, baby, baby, I'm Gonna Leave You.
"Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You"

Babe, baby, baby, I'm Gonna Leave You.
I said baby, you know I'm gonna leave you.
I'll leave you when the summertime,
Leave you when the summer comes a-rollin'
Leave you when the summer comes along.

Baby, baby, I don't wanna leave you,
I ain't jokin' woman, I got to ramble.
Oh, yeah, baby, baby, I believin',
We really got to ramble.
I can hear it callin' me the way it used to do,
I can hear it callin' me back home!

Babe...I'm gonna leave you
Oh, baby, you know, I've really got to leave you
Oh I can hear it callin 'me
I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?

I know I never never never gonna leave your babe
But I got to go away from this place,
I've got to quit you, yeah
Baby, ooh don't you hear it callin' me?
Woman, woman, I know, I know
It feels good to have you back again
And I know that one day baby, it's really gonna grow, yes it is.
We gonna go walkin' through the park every day.
Come what may, every day

It was really, really good.
You made me happy every single day.
But now... I've got to go away!

Baby, baby, baby, baby
That's when it's callin' me
I said that's when it's callin' me back home...
