Obama is officially the frontrunner now and we all know Iowa's history with frontrunners |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-13-07 06:59 PM by Herman Munster
Expectations couldn't be any lower for Hillary and in many ways that is a good thing. The most damaging scenario would have been for her to have solid leads in the polls prior to the caucus and then losing in a surprise. As it stands now, a loss is expected. A win would be considered a huge comeback and give her much more momentum than if she was leading.
It's all in the expectations game.

Anything less then a win here is bad news for Hillary. Iowa has already eaten its frontrunner.

|
Up until the past couple of weeks...Clinton has always led in Iowa(or Edwards). Also, there are too many polls showing her with a small lead to say Obama is the OFFICIAL frontrunner. He's surging and that's all.

in fact, she doesn't even care to compete there, so when she loses it's no sweat. if she loses NH, that's no big deal either. if she loses Nevada, that's just water under the bridge. if she loses SC then that's just going to make her that more powerful.
i don't think she even has to win a single state to get the nod.

the majority of super delegates. Winning all of the early states aren't critical. Like Giuliani, she can lose all of the early states and still win it all on Super Tuesday.

to run her campaign as a "reelection". Just because you think lowering expectations on DU will have any effect, does not make it so everywhere else.

30. hillary was not the front runner, she was INEVITABLE! |
|
She was the well-oiled machine that was going to steam-roller any opposition. Obama was just the little man who needed to grow up before he was ready, he was irresponsible and frankly naive, not ready for the big time. Maybe a VP. Maybe in 8 years when he has enough experience. Back of the bus now!
So now she is the underdog, and it is better to be the underdog?
my how things get spin these days.
The winner of Iowa will get about a 10 point boost in NH. If that be Obama, he will easily win NH....then SC and maybe even Nevada. Nevada won't really change much however either way. Not exactly a firewall. Obama would have all the momentum going into Super Duper Tuesday.
I think Obama is in a better position to win it all than Edwards. However, I am not discounting Edwards. If Edwards wins convincingly in Iowa, he will get the boost. If Hillary finishes third in both...then it becomes a race between edwards and obama. Hillary becomes an asterisc for the campaign, thanks for participating, glad you were here, have a good day. A race between obama and edwards would be interesting. I would be quite pleased, because either way, we nominate someone who can win and be a great president. And so would my first pick, Biden.

You have been saying for weeks to pay no attentions to the pools because they are wrong. THen when Obama gets a small lead you you callhim the Front Runner who is bound to crash and burn.
So tell me if Hillary had held her lead in Iowa would she have crashed and burned too... Since all Frontrunners crash and burn. '
YOU HAVE NOT CREDIBILITY!
