About the Florida Muslim vote in 2000, and about 2004 |
|
Interesting e-mail I received to tonight about the Muslim vote in Florida in 2000.
Which Democratic candidate will meet with Muslim voters?

I attended a speech at Earlham College today. One of the speakers was a fascinating man, named Bashir Ahmed, who's speech, "Islam's History Shows a Religion of Tolerance" was warm and insightful.
One of the amazing statistics he touched upon was the fact that the greater part of the national Muslim community during the 2000 election backed Bush.
Why? Because their requests for an audience with Gore were totally ignored, but Bush at least met with them.
The important point he made though, was that the Muslim vote in the State of Florida was 70,000.
Just some food for thought.
Peace!

including a prominent Professor at the University of South Florida. This has pissed many Florida Muslims off bigtime,.... So...Me-thinks Bush won't have it as easy this time.
