Ron Paul is advertising on the Howard Stern show |
|
I'm listening to the Howard Stern show on Sirius online. A Ron Paul ad just came on. It's the first presidential ad I have ever heard on the Stern show. They're doing the "History of Howard Stern" right now, so Stern isn't on live. Still, this is a little surprising.

1. Only a Libertarian could get away with it. |
|
Which Paul is, so I reckon that's it.

7. He'll take anyone's ad money. Stern does not support Paul. |
|
I think he's in the Clinton inevitability faction.

8. They know their targeted demographics.... |
|
It's a political campaign that knows its targeted demographics pretty well...
To be honest, I don't find this surprising at all-- many of Stern's listeners like to think of themselves as free and independent thinkers, hipsters and the ultra-cool. RP could probably tap into this well of 'urban-chic bathroom humor' as well as any other candidates I imagine.

9. Does Stern actually endorse candidates? |
|
I don't listen to his show, but from what I remember, he only seems to get political when something affects him personally, such as when he turned on the Chimpministration after being fined by Mikey Powell's FCC.
If a candidate promised to go after the FCC and return them to a reasonable regulating agency instead of corporate shilling self appointed "guardians of decency", Howard would probably hold his own fundraisers for that person.
On the other hand, Paul would probably abolish the FCC altogether. Maybe that's what Howard is counting on?

10. He essentialy endorsed Kerry in 2004. |
|
He voted for Gore and Clinton. He "supports" Hillary this time. He's not advocating for her. I just think he likes her.

11. He used to like Guiliani when he was his mayor |
|
He used to come to Howard's birthday show and was a frequent guest on the show.
I bet if Guiliani had run as an Independant he would have supported him.
