Clinton staffers banned from liberal New Hampshire blog
Less than a month before the first presidential primary in New Hampshire, a liberal blog in the Granite State has banned six user names traced to an IP address belonging to Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign because those using the names failed to disclose that they are affiliated with the campaign.

The Blue Hampshire blog traced four user names that registered with the blog within minutes of each other and were used to recommend a pro-Clinton post to the IP address along with two other other user names, noted
Dean Barker, managing editor of the blog last week.

"Paid campaign staff are welcome in this community, but are asked to disclose their affiliation to a campaign, either through their signature line, a disclosure statement on a diary or even in the choosing of a user name," Barker wrote on the blog. "The fact that all the users mentioned above came from a Clinton campaign IP, but did not register with campaign email addresses and avoided making comments or diaries, instead only recommending pro-Clinton diaries strikes us as gaming the system.

The Clinton campaign did not respond to a Computerworld request for comment, but told Blue Hampshire that the comments on the blog were not part of an orchestrated effort, but the product of "overeager staffers and volunteers."

I made that suggestion before all the Hillaroids flared up, but was chastized. There should be a requirement of full disclosure of this kind of stuff.

10. I have no problem with full disclosure.
Irony being there are likely more people here from other campaigns than Hillary's.

The problem with paid staff and charges of them being here is people use this as a weapon against supporters to imply their feelings/support are not genuine and that's bullshit.

29. Because full disclosure would not stop people from making accusations.
Which is why DU kills most paid poster threads in the 1st place.

Also I am not sure how you would enforce such a rule.

Any thoughts beyond a voluntary system?

26. No one wants to ban anyone's supporters. It's campaign staffers who were banned, not supporters (and
I was mainly being facetious).

18. I really doubt that any candidate, from either side of the aisle...
knows much about some of their staffers(paid)and volunteers. They tend to get carried away on their own at times and needs be must be reined in.

I doubt that the candidates have the time to go over email records and other communications from all their websites and offices...any of the candidates.

And yes, there are probably rules to be read and agreed to during the hiring process. But people being people don't generally go by the rules.

21. I work for Obama...volunteer, not compensated.
I think I've made that pretty clear that I'm involved with the campaign at a professional level since I work in every Presidential cycle. I went to work with Obama after careful observation of who was and wasn't going to work for Hillary since all my close friends weren't.

I concluded her campaign was rife with inside the beltway DLC types who were clueless about on -ground politics outside of DC. The kind of arrogant goofs you see on booth sides of the aisle in DC. The kind that got us in this mess today. The kind who could take a winning candidate and create a close race. Like they have.

Do I post talking points? Absolutely. Do I share my collected wisdom of seven campaigns? Whenever someone will listen. Do I ever work for money? If someone ponies up enough. I prefer to believe in what I'm doing however.

I am running a one week only Christmas special for the Clinton Campaign:40% off! Hire me at 100k a week and I'll show you how to win. It's almost too late! Act now!

25. There is a blogger who posts regularly here on DU and at...
democrats.com. He is a staunch Kucinich supporter and was, at least at one time, a paid flack for Dennis. Yet, until questioned directly, he does not admit to that. When pinned down, he admits to that and to the fact that he may be paid at this time...or would like to be.
