Gore Getting in Shape
Whatever he decides to do (and he will not enter the race in 2008; he told the Draft Gore groups to stand down), this is good news.

Former Vice President Al Gore was spotted getting his fitness on over the weekend in Los Angeles.

CN8 “Backstage” host Barry Nolan was working out at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills when he spotted the Nobel laureate two elliptical machines down from him. Before introducing himself, Nolan called his friend, actor and Gore supporter David Keith, and asked if there was anything he’d like to pass along to the former veep.

Keith said, “Tell him I have a great plan for him to mount a last-minute presidential campaign with the slogan ‘We told you so.’ ”

After finishing his own workout, Nolan approached Gore to say hello and shared Keith’s message. Gore laughed and asked Nolan to tell the actor he said hi. According to Nolan, Gore is taking his workouts quite seriously these days. He spent more than an hour on the machine.

2. There's always 2012...plenty of time for him to get svelt.
2008 is off the table (pardon the use of a bad line), but 2012 is still a possibility.

5. We better hope 2012 is off the table...
because if it isn't, it means a Repuke has won in 2008.

8. Well, I think a lot of it has to do with which Dem gets in next year.
If we wind up with a do nothing, no change Dem, the Democratic base is going to get really fed up really fast. That's just what we need: a lousy President to match the lousy Congress we already have.

In that scenario, I could see someone strong like Gore jumping in to the rescue.

10. Al Gore would never challenge a Democratic incumbent. He just wouldn't. NT

4. reminds me of that hilarious 2003 SNL skit,
Edited on Thu Dec-20-07 02:37 PM by shireen
the SNL which Gore hosted. Franken did his Stuart Smalley character trying to counsel Gore to get over his 2000 loss with those goofy affirmations. Some of the funniest tv I've ever seen.

edited to correct date in subject line

6. I was ready for one in 2000 (G-d forgive me!)
Might be the one positive of the election being stolen...... Holy Joe was never one heartbeat away from the presidency.

As far as Jewish VP's go, I'd prefer Gore-Feingold to Gore-Franken, but I hope Franken does well in Minnesota.

9. For whatever reason, it's good for your health to work out regularly.
Here's the IMDB info on David Keith (seems he's a Tennessee guy, too):

14. Thank you, NYCGirl!
I had my David Keith's mixed ..there's an actor named Keith David and I thought it was him(he's Black) but I know this Keith, too. He usually plays a real good "Bad Guy"..but I've always liked him. He was born on my little sister's birthday, too, two years earlier.

Tennessee Guys! :toast:

17. He also plays a lot of cops/military types.
Which makes me think there should be a buddy cop movie starring David Keith and Keith David.

11. Good for him! I'm also in the fledgling stages of a get-in-shape effort
and the benefits are already paying off...I'm up to 3 miles a day, I've lost 5 kilos (11 pounds), and I've already gone down a couple of notches in my belt.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Basically laying off the beer, eating sensibly, no snacking (or no *poor* snacking), no sodas, fresh fruit and veggies at every meal, bran cereal, etc.

13. Sounds like you have a really good plan in place. There are sure some days when
I really don't want to go to the gym, but I force myself because you feel so great afterwards!
