I have for a long time, though I had kinda forgotten about him for a while.
I like Edwards too.
On the other hand, I feel opposite of you re repug attacks and who will best be able to fight back.
Kerry has already demonstrated that he will fight them, and he is tough about it. He won't take any BS from them
See this press release:

However, I worry that the GOP will paint Edwards as having absolutely no experience that would qualify him to be Commander in Cheif of the Armed Forces. They will ignore all the wonderful things Edwards says about "Two Americas" and jobs and just say he is not qualified to be President because America is at war. This will be an effective argument from the GOP, and there is really no answer that Senator Edwards can give other than "I will not let you frame the debate this way." And that will not be a good enough answer.
One the other hand, if they try the same tactic on John Kerry, he will speak w authority on the issues. Already he is planting the seeds that GWB is less qualified to be Commander in Cheif of the Armed Forces because he has broken faith with the troops. Kerry will then be able to frame the debate. . .to talk about Bush's record re jobs, ashcroft, etc etc.
Please understand that I like John Edwards and will happily work for him if he is the nominee. But also understand that I believe John Kerry has a better chance of dealing with attacks from the GOP and challenging the Bush admin, despite his less than stellar speaking abilities.
On edit. . .missing word, clarify thought
