Majority Democrats' power checked by GOP (AP)
WASHINGTON - Democrats running Congress for the first time in more than a decade faltered at key points this year as they grudgingly passed important bills opposed by many, or even most, of their House members. When Republicans were in charge, they generally avoided a similar fate...

2. According to Reid
little can be done until and unless more Democrats replace Republicans in the Senate.

How many dems can get elected this round? Even if we make it to the 60 needed to overcome a filibuster how many will actually stick together for the vote? Reid can't get the dems he has to stay on track. If we get a dem elected in the WH the repukes will still use their tactics to stop votes.

5. What political party needs 70% to be able to govern?
What Reid is suggesting is absurd. We need 70 in the senate to be able to pass stuff we need? That's what he's saying. Becuase even if we had 60, some will not stick with us.

If that's the case, we don't need 70 Dems, we need 51 people with guts.
