IMO.

Kerry wasn't given a fair shake because he came from Massachusetts. Neither was Dukakis.

Anyone who doesn't speak with a Southern accent might as well not try for the presidency.

So if Obama can't win in '08, it won't be because he's black. It'll be because his stunningly articulate and powerful voice fails to denote a twinge of ol' Dixie.

So we might as well cross off Biden, Dodd, Kucinich, Clinton and Richardson from our list of contenders too.

2. Support Obama?
No way...he's from my state too. He doesn't have a chance to win because of his voting record, his arrogance, and his global agenda.

The MW and South didn't want Lieberman and he was a white guy with experience. They feard his religious agenda for war (seems they were right) and his global agenda.

Can some dislike for candidates be just their politics?

5. it's all about the accent
Chicago isn't even in the northeast, but if it's not a Southern accent, it might as well be.

and Kerry didn't win the election, btw. he's not president.

6. He may not be the Prez
but Fratboy most certainly was NOT ELECTED. If you haven't seen the evidence regarding that, you should.

11. I don't have anything against the south, but please......
I don't want to hear more twang for a long time. I think 16 years is long enough. The South has had it's say. Let's hear it for anywhere else!

14. Guilliani and Romney have not done badly so far
and they have had the NE card played.

IM0 the NE is something the Media Pulls out. I think there
has been a lot of cross-pollination--that is NE people moving
South and West, --the suspicion is growing less. not all gone
but not like it was once upon a time.

Will that qualify her?

20. It's definitely a shame.
Northerners will vote for Southerners, but the reverse isn't true to the same extent.

Same with women voting for men, minorities voting for white people, gays voting for heteros, liberals voting for moderates, and non-Christians voting for Christians.

Hence, a lot of southern, male, white, straight Christian presidents.

Hence, I would LOVE to see a northeastern, female, minority, gay liberal non-Christian in office!

21. Yes, indeed, accent trumps all. Does cot and caught sound the same to you?
Then you can't be president. On or in line? On, you're out. In, you're in. Does your local grocery sell RC Cola? No? Out! Do you say "pop" or "soda" instead of coke? If so, out! Should tea be served with sugar already in it while hot so it melts? Good, then you, too, can be President.

Lets' look at the 20th and 21st Century Presidents' birthstates and where they flourished:

Ohio
New York
Ohio
Virginia/Georgia/New Jersey
Ohio
Vermont
Iowa/California/China/DC
New York
Missouri
Kansas
Mass
Texas
California
Michigan (if Ford counts)
Georgia
California
Arkansas
Connecticut/Texas

Gee, what a bias!
