I am outta here for the time being. You two camps can go take a flying leap, seriously. I have had it up to here with clicking on an innocent and informative post only to have posters show up whining and crying and spitting names and the rest of the bullshit. You two camps are making the rest (and best) of us look really bad. I have so many of you on ignore now that a long thread looks like 'ignored' is a contributing member of DU. Enough with the snark and the stupid one liners and drive by's. I am ashamed. I was here for the 04 festivities, you kids beat them in spades.

4. They're all bozos. And they disgrace their candidates. |
|
Keep in mind, I am only referring to those who make up lies about their opponents, or who post bullshit about their candidates, or who spam, or lie, or who simply behave in an untruthful, dishonest, and assholy-like fashion.
Honest debate over real issues? That's GREAT!!!!!!!!!!
Bullshit over horseshit????? Nay. I cannot bear that stuff.

with common sense, go away ... just because of some primary stupidity, it could mean one of these folks becomes the nominee, by default ...
So, if you really have had it with Obama and Clinton (just as I have) vote for who you believe in.
Even if they/you don't 'win' at least you'll know you have done your part.

... and very good.
I will reflect on my own posts.
Thanks for that sobering reminder. I think people are passionate, at the very least -- and that gives me hope. We just get a bit heated and perhaps say things out of the heat of the moment.
Just shows how important these elections have been.

To the OP: it might be a good time for you to take a break from here. I just hide the threads that piss me off and laugh at the posters who are too outrageous.
For me, it's nervous time and I'm just flipping around DU waiting until the first vote is counted. I'm more than ready to start fighting the Republicans.

I don't think you have any room to talk if you aren't contributing to useful threads. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x3890930Why do you click on threads that are obvious flame fests?

20. Oh, grow up...it's part of the political process... |
|
the war drums have to be banged...once a candidate is chosen we will all rally around her and take on the repugs. Til then, this is just what is necessary in order to vet a candidate before the GE.

is a big reason why we get such shitty leadership.

What has battling it out here on GDP have to do with "leadership"? I'm curious to find out what one has to do with the other.

25. Not just GDP, but the nation's political dialogue at large. |
|
When the focus of this dialogue is petty junior high school level bickering and not a substantive discussion of issues and policy, the leaders we elect are folks who have mastered the art of dealing with and dishing out bullshit, an art which has very little to do with being able to effectively manage the government.
The canonical example of this sort of politics was the Swift-Boat campagin against Kerry in 2004. How did this benefit the country?

26. I resent the fact that you use those terms to dehumanize us so |
|
you can demonize us and call us the "other".
The stripping away of our individualism is the first step towards censorship which you seem to be endorsing with your self-proclaimed inclination to put people, that you have stripped of their humanity, on "Ignore".
