Your primary vote. 1992 and 2008
Question is who did you vote for in the 1992 primary and who are you voting for now? I am curious to see the link between Bill in 92 supporters vs. Hillary in 08

1992
Jerry Brown
Bill Clinton
Tom Harkin
Bob Kerrey
Paul Tsongas

As for me it was Brown and Obama

1. I don't even remember who I voted for,
but I think it was Bill. I'm voting "uncommitted" in our sham of a primary.

2. Not only have I forgotten who I might have voted for in the primary
I don't remember the rest of those candidates. It is possible I was not paying attention to politics until October of that year.

I wasn't eligible to vote yet
I was only 16, but I supported Clinton after Cuomo decided not to run. This year, I held out some hope for Gore, but have backed Edwards all the way through.

16. Ha, that's right
"Billy Jack" ran! I remember now. He really hated Clinton, as I recall.

There was also Larry Agran, who was the ex-mayor of Sacramento? San Diego? Somewhere in California.

13. Clinton I think
I might have voted for Brown, but he really was a bit loopy at the time. I know I didn't vote for any of the other 3. I remember being very unhappy that primary season. We had a much better field in 88. Hart, Simon, Gephardt, Jackson, Gore, it was great.

17. 1992 - Clinton, 2008 - Biden - probably Edwards if Biden is out
In 1992, I wanted to vote for Illinois Senator Paul Simon, but he was out of the running by the time my state's primary came around. So, I rather unenthusiastically voted for Bill Clinton. Happily, I learned to like Bill more and more over time.

This time around I am very unsettled by Hillary Clinton's candidacy in many ways. If she ends up with the nomination and the presidency, I think I can arrive at a comfortable place with it. At least, I hope so. However, I think that there are SEVERAL better potential nominees in the race right now. Joe Biden is at the top of my list. The Texas primary is on March 4th. I'll have two options: vote for someone who's on the ballot but who has dropped out of the race* OR vote for the best candidate on the ballot who's still in the race.

* In 2004, I voted for Wesley Clark in the Texas primary even though he'd dropped out shortly before our primary. I felt I was making a statement of sorts. I do not regret not voting for John Kerry in the primary. His candidacy played out just like I feared it would.

18. I wanted Cuomo to throw his hat in the ring.
And flirted with Kerrey before settling with Bill.

This year I support Hillary.

19. Brown, Edwards
For the record: Carter, Hart, Dukakis, Brown, Clinton, Gore, Edwards.

The party fucked us in '84 by shoving Mondale down our throat; Gary Hart didn't implode until '88. Sadly, he's probably the most underutilized statesman of the last couple of decades.

25. Voted for Clinton in 1992
Though I briefly considered Perot because of NAFTA. I knew he was right, and Clinton and Bush were both wrong, but in the end I just couldn't bring myself to vote for a guy who sounded like he was on helium.

But he WAS right on NAFTA, and the world has sufferred for it.
