Here is the one reality Obama folks can't face
Edited on Sat Dec-29-07 12:27 PM by KennedyGuy
REAL CLEAR POLITICS AVERAGES
Election 2008 Republicans Democrats
National Giuliani + 4.2 Clinton + 19.2
Iowa Huckabee + 5.7 Clinton + 2.0
New Hampshire Romney + 5.6 Clinton + 2.6
Mich (R) | Nev (D) Romney + 1.0 Clinton + 20.0
South Carolina Huckabee + 6.5 Clinton + 0.6
Florida Giuliani + 2.0 Clinton + 24.8

He's not ahead ANYWHERE
get it?
ANYWHERE..
and all your attacks against the other candidates will not change that.
Obama is a nice guy and all..
and may be the guy Tweety would most like to have a beer with
but President..
Nah..
not yet..
not ready..

30. Maybe

"Obama would be the best thing to happen to the repugs...a sure bet Loser for us in '08..."

I think the best thing that could happen to the repugs is a corporate shill like Hillary gets to rob us all of the chance for a real change. She is also the one target they really want to run against because their troops morale is low for everything except Hillary hating. Half their party is threatening to stay home and their only real hope is Hillary. She will bring out reps in droves to vote against her and she won't even be able to say shes for something different because she usually votes republican on the things that count. At the same time that giant sucking sound heard in our party will be fed up workers leaving to go third party, staying home on election day, or voting for an asshat like Ron Paul as a protest vote. Of course when I say workers I don't mean the wives of orange county or professionals. I mean borderline families like mine who have little hope for our kids futures.

Hillary is the reps dream candidate and Black guy with name rhyming with Osama is a close second. Considering the state of our country(corporate-owned), our govt(corporate-owned), and our media(corporate-owned), I don't consider it a coincidence that these are 2 of our 3 choices. I'm gonna take door #3.

If Edwards fails and Obama or Biden takes the nom, they will get my full support because Obama has sworn off the dirty corporate money and Joe has been in the senate 35 years and is still only worth 150k. Hillary will not get my vote, period.

51.  OBAMAS CHURCH MISSION:we are called to be AGENTS of liberation WHAT WILL RW DO WITH THIS??
OBAMA'S CHURCH...
Trinity United Church of Christ:
has been called by God to be a congregation that is not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that does not apologize for its African roots! As a congregation of baptized believers, we are called to be agents of liberation not only for the oppressed, but for all of God’s family. We, as a church family, acknowledge, that we will, building on this affirmation of "who we are" and "whose we are," call men, women, boys and girls to the liberating love of Jesus Christ, inviting them to become a part of the church universal, responding to Jesus’ command that we go into all the world and make disciples!

We are called out to be "a chosen people" that pays no attention to socio-economic or educational backgrounds. We are made up of the highly educated and the uneducated. Our congregation is a combination of the haves and the have-nots; the economically disadvantaged, the under-class, the unemployed and the employable.

The fortunate who are among us combine forces with the less fortunate to become agents of change for God who is not pleased with America’s economic mal-distribution!

W.E.B. DuBois indicated that the problem in the 20th century was going to be the problem of the color line. He was absolutely correct. Our job as servants of God is to address that problem and eradicate it in the name of Him who came for the whole world by calling all men, women, boys and girls to Christ.

About Us http://www.tucc.org/home.htm

We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.

You did not provide a link in your OP, and the link you just provided doesn't link to the polls you cited. Linking to the main page at a site the size of Real Clear Politics is like linking to the main DU page to cite some information posted in the Research forum.

Since you appear to put a lot of stock in poll results, perhaps you should follow the link I provided in my previous post. It might prove to be quite instructive for you.

42. Trends are important in the last 30 days of a race
Edited on Sat Dec-29-07 02:46 PM by FogerRox
We've seen some slippage by HRC, about 3 weeks out, while Obama & Edwards have shown some growth 2 weeks out.

At each point we've seen a new poll come out, that intitially looks to be an outlier, but then other polling a week later shows the outlier to be the trend. There will probably be a few more Iowa polls, if some show a close race, I will call it for Obama & Edwards fairly easily.

The ground game can be worth 5 to 10 points on election/caucus day. So who has the best field organization, is who wins in Iowa. I'm sure Edwards fans will lay claim to the "we've been in Iowa before" title. I know that Obama has been working in Iowa for a while, and probably has good field people there. The Big Dog has gone thru Iowa before, so HRC knows how to compete in Iowa.

I think Obama or Edwards will win Iowa.

New Lee poll: Edwards moves into 3-way tie

The poll, conducted with 500 likely caucus goers from each party on Wednesday and Thursday, showed Edwards and Obama tied with 29 percent to lead Democrats, followed by Clinton with 28 percent. Bill Richardson was fourth with 7 percent. Joe Biden was fifth with 3 percent. Chris Dodd and Dennis Kucinich both had 1 percent and 2 percent were undecided.

The poll, which has a margin or error of plus or minus 4.5 percent, was commissioned by Lee Enterprises and conducted by Maryland-based Research 2000.

12/26-27

Obama 29
Edwards 29
Clinton 28

But not so quick, theres more to it than that.

12/26-27 12/10-13 11/12-14

Obama 29 33 25
Edwards 29 24 21
Clinton 28 24 27

EDIT: Obama has slipped according to the poll I cited, I didnt change the sentence though.

We're talking about electing a president, not baking a batch of cookies.

Some people said Bill Clinton wasn't ready back in 1992, didn't they? Clinton didn't accept that then, and Obama isn't accepting that now.
