Biden has said if he doesn't place third, or at least a close fourth, he'll drop out of the race (although this is a backtrack from September when Biden said in Iowa he needs to finish "first, second or an indistinguishable third. To tell you the truth, if I don’t, then this has been a nice exercise and I’ll see you again when you come to visit Washington.").

Will Biden drop out if he finishes 5th behind Richardson as the polls suggest or if Biden somehow surpasses Richardson but still doesn't come within 5% of the top tier?

A simple yes or no in the subject line is all I need (but of course further comments would be welcome, too).

4. He'll do what he thinks is best...
and if he sees a sign, at all, that he has a chance, he'll stay in. If people take the time to listen to Biden, they don't walk away not liking him, or not believing in his total honesty approach. He has broad appeal, and he could actually win, if people would just take the time to get to know him.

Of course, there are those who *think* they know him, and have no desire to adjust their views. So be it.

5. If that happens (perish the thought!) I think he will drop out.

As I understand it, his family encouraged him to enter the race - he had no particular personal aspirations this time around. And he's said if he didn't make it, he'll still die a happy man, having loved being in public service his entire life.

And he always tells it like it is and is up front. I have no reason not to believe him at his word. He's not known for being coy. :7

6. I think Richardson or Biden will drop out after NH. Dodd merits more support but I think he'll drop
out after Iowa if he finishes 6th or 7th.

7. I hope not too
I want to have a chance to have my say. I've given the man as much $$ as our family can afford and I am so excited about the possibility of having a true leader with a heart of pure gold in the Oval Office.

8. Hear....Hear!!
If you had given as much energy and effort as Joe and his family have, I believe you'd evaluate your chances at the end of Iowa and either go on to NH, or drop out.

I hope Joe doesn't drop out, as we need him in the Oval Office more now, than last fall, or whenever he made that statement. What's the most important thing to consider? The United States of America and Joe is perfect to fill the role of our next POTUS.

Go, Joe!

that those of us who support Biden hope that he will finally NOT keep his word on something and stay the hell in the race!

18. Why should he? McCain said he would shoot himself if the Dems took control of Congress in 2006.
Although it probably wouldn't do any damage if he shot himself in the head!
That dude's nuts!

20. Hope not. I think he should be someone's VP if he doesn't win.
Hillary/Biden.

That ticket would be unbeatable.

22. I would like to see them all stay in until Super Duper Tuesday at least. I've e-mailed
every campaign besides the two supposed "leaders" to ask them to do so.
