Clark Covers lack of substance with Hollywood Glitz
"Hello, Uma? Wes Clark here...."

Well it probably didn't go down exactly like that, but it sure is evident that Wesley Clark is looking at Tinseltown to get the vapid pop culture vote. Oh and let's not forget all the potential heavy money from the place, which Clark seeks to catch up to his rivals; especially Howard Dean, who still leads in popularity and fundraising.

Read on. Love ya Babe, mean it.....Ciao....

General enlists Hollywood to ignite campaign
By Julian Coman in Washington

In an unlikely attempt to gain star backing for a slow-burning campaign, the Democratic presidential candidate, General Wesley Clark, is spending late nights talking politics with Madonna and wooing sympathetic supergroups such as The Eagles, with whom he recently shared the stage during a rendition of Hotel California.

Gen Clark, who had a cerebral and somewhat austere reputation during his military career, has spent much of the past month seeking out the late-night company of west coast rock stars, screen idols and movie producers. While his rivals preach to the worthy but unglamorous residents of early-voting Iowa and New Hampshire, Gen Clark is dressing snappily and going out on the town in LA.

3. Hey, I feel his pain!
I really do. I wouldn't want to have to go shmooz with Hollywood and then go back to the voters and act like a man of substance. The two just do not mix!

9. A man of
substance? Like what we have in the WH now? My Great Dane has more substance than that slimy, pathetic little puppet in the WH. Let Clark get the bucks where he can. Isn't the Telegraph a Murdoch rag?

2. he needs the cash if he's to have any chance
might as well go knocking where the big bucks generally come from.

However the serious money from elsewhere is laying low.

4. Except for George Soros
He's on the radar and very public, but I think he's more of a "conservative" democrat. Still, a good guy.

5. Actually,
I suspect that you really have to factual idea of whether the "real money from elsewhere" is laying low or not.

BTW, what exactly is the real money from elsewhere? I love these kind of vague attacks. Nice going.

17. go back and look at the big corporate money from the last 3 runs
its not an attack. They seldom come into things till the nominee is set and then to the extent that they believe that he can win. Just reality. Sorry if you find it to be an attack.

8. Old news, old article
The byline states it was filed back in November, when it was covered here in the US. I guess the telegraph didn't consider it all that newsworthy if they sat on it for over four weeks before putting it in print.

Madonna has already endorsed Clark, I believe, and it was chewed to pieces on DU already.

Several other Hollywood celebrities have endorsed Wes as well.

Gotta keep up to date with the attacks, pal. Don't want to seem behind the times.

12. I guess it's allright to attack hime for being in LA
when he was visiting his son and waiting for the birth of his first grandson. He has spent time in LA and it seems to me for good reason. Family. And why not make hay while your at it. Quit with the Hollywood BS

So it must be sound tactic that I could use.

21. Am I the only one who suspects that if Howard Dean
were campaigning in Hollywood, Scottyboy and his kind would be running around here in an orgasmic frenzy, praising this visionary and totally unprecedented strategy and arguing that it demonstrates most compellingly how Howard Dean has his finger firmly placed on the pulse of American popular culture, as befits a man of the people?

in Hollywood and has raised a good bit of money from LA types, I believe. Isn't Rob Reiner his honcho for the Hollywood elite?

24. OK, then I guess the usual rule applies.
When Howard Dean does something, it is good. When someone else does the very same thing, it is bad.

That simple rule makes it so much easier to keep up with what is acceptable behavior among those noble souls in "the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party."

Rove or just enamored with him?

Hey try this, do something positive for your guy, instead of attacking the other guy.
