21. Me three

I wonder if it's a good thing I'm not letting Edwards supporters change my mind, though...some of them have been *UGLY* today.

5. Trippi was discounting the importance of 2nd choice supporters yesterday
"There really aren't any deals to cut this year. Last time the second tier people were getting 11-12% of the vote, and if all those people moved to one candidate that could be a big difference. This time, 1) no one in the second tier is doing anything but low single digits"

8. I don't pay attention to Trippi! I still blame HIM for Dean not winning!
It's the job of your lead guy to warn you about all the pitfalls out there, and he failed AGAIN! Remember Trippi's first candidate was McGovern!

24. Trippi is wrong on both counts
Here is 2004 :

Des Moines Register Iowa Poll conducted by Selzer & Company
Mid-date: 1/15/2004
Iowa
Est. MoE = 3.5%
John Kerry 26%
John Edwards 23%
Howard Dean 20%
Dick Gephardt 18%
Dennis Kucinich 3%
Wesley Clark 2%
Carol Moseley Braun 1%
Al Sharpton 1%
Joe Lieberman 1%
Unsure 5%

http://www.usaelectionpolls.com/2004/iowa.html

The second tier was every one below Gephardt - there were 4 top tier people in 2004

They had 8% spread over 5 candidates (The unsure should not be counted there - as most would actually select one of teh top 4 or not vote)

Here is 2008

In the Des Moines Register poll -

Biden has 4
Dodd has 2
Kuchinich has 1
Richardson has 6

http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071231/NEWS09/71231044

This adds to 13 %

So Trippi is absolutely wrong

9. They aren't cutting deals. These comments are probably based on the polling results.

13. LOL Rather interesting given that Biden is questioning Edwards' Iraq plan
and was noticeably POed in the union debate last year that Edwards was acting as though he had a career of supporting unions - Biden challenged him to site examples more than 2 years old.

Fishy that Edwards' campaign manager is saying this. I would believe it more coming from Biden.
