Did Sen. Edwards forget to congratulate Sen. Obama or was it intentional? |
|
I really hope it's the former!

4. It was a pretty classless speech if you ask me... |
|
Didn't bother to congratulate Obama...or the other contenders from what I heard...

There's no reason to congratulate anyone, anyway: the campaign isn't over. When it's over, THEN you congratulate.

It's silly to nitpick over who congratulated whom.

8. I thought his speech was fantastic |
|
it wasn't about Clinton or Obama or Dodd or Biden or Kucinich or Gravel...it was about America and the American people and what he (or the next president) needs to do to help this country. I thought it was amazing.

13. Perhaps he brought the wrong notes out. That was just a generic stump speech. |

15. It was a perfect speech for his supporters, but the wrong speech to give live on national television |
|
His supporters are already with him - he needs to make an impression and win over the people on the other side of the camera lens.
That's what got Dean in trouble in 2004 - his "scream" speech was great for his diehard supporters in the room, but hurt him irreparably with the broader audience.
Obama's speech was perfect - he was speaking to the country, not just to the people in the room. And he hit it out of the park.

As I said in another thread, there was the ghost of Howard Dean in that room. He gave a stump speech for the crowd, and it seemed bizarre, confrontational, and angry to those at home.
