"We are one nation, one people, and our time for change has come" |
|
"You said the time has come to move beyond the bitterness and pettiness and anger . . . to end the political strategy that's been all about division and instead make it about addition. To build a coalition for change that stretches through red states and blue states because that's how we'll win in November and that's how we'll finally meet the changes we face as a nation." --- Barack Obama January 3, 2008

3. When JFK got in office and saw the real deal |
|
He was willing to forgo the monetary support and the middle east policy of those who put him in office and try to change the system and some writers say that is what got him killed despite his womenizing.
Only if Obama or Edwards is willing to do the same will some change be made in the system.

The far right and its minions are NEVER going to cooperate with a rational reform and regulation.
You can bet the farm on that.

9. Obama is long on rhetoric, short on substance . . . |
|
the last time this country elected a "rock star" president, we ended up with Ronald Reagan . . . it's time to vote on the critical issues facing this country and elect John Edwards . . .

11. Obama energized 118,000 additional caucus goers.... |
|
that's not rethorics....some folks even call it action; citizen action-
It's time to get out the vote.
It's time for Edwards to take a seat. Promising the moon from the bleachers ain't doing it.

It is actions that count. And the simple truth is that Obama has been short on delivering the details on what actions he would take.
I would like to hear more. But he has yet to satisfy my curiosity.

14. What action have any of them taken? |
|
Edited on Fri Jan-04-08 07:54 AM by FrenchieCat
I didn't hear any details in any of the speeches.....
Certainly didn't hear any details in Edwards' speech....other than we can fix it....once he listed a litany of problem. Kinda of made me think of Debbie Downer.
He seemed to like the microphones in front of him thought. Kept fiddling with them with his well manicured hands.
Obama brought thousands to the caucus...which is "doing something".....in fact it is called citizenry action. That's usually quite a bit to get folks on your side....if you are going to be leading a democracy. For Obama to have done that showed oustanding leadership and understanding of organization and people power. Edwards and Hillary, not so much. I will say that Hillary was gracious and did congratulate the winners, recognized the losers, and thanked her staff. Obama did that to, in an exemplerary way. He related to their hard work on the ground (something he used to do)and made sure that the perspective of what they had achieved together was not about him.
