Congratulations to Hillary Clinton for finishing a strong third |
|
I was expecting her to finish a weak third, but the corporate media pulled it off for her and made it closer than expected. She did pretty good considering her short comings.

Edwards finished in second place. He should of finished first, but he's battling two well oiled political machines and the corporate media.

3. I'd like to congratulate John Edwards on finishing a strong second... |
|
After 6 straight years of campaigning in the state he only came in 2 percentage points behind his 2004 showing...
impressive

He finished ahead of Hillary despite all her money and corporate media connections.

9. Spinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.... |
|
Fact is he did worse than he did in 2004...after campaigning almost none stop for 6 years...
If his goal was to come in ahead of Hillary by a fraction of a percent...then he accomplished his goal...congratulations!!!
if his goal was to you know..actually win...then he failed...

10. Re: Hillary got her ASS kicked in Iowa! |
|
If we go back to last fall, you among other Hillbots predicted her overwhelming victory in Iowa.
Guess what? Despite throwing everything and I mean everything at Iowa, YOUR GIRL came in third! And that was with help from Republican ringers in rural and western precincts! She did not win any demographic in Iowa except women over 65!
Any you know what else, when I stopped reading your posts on DU and started phone banking for John Edwards, he won my precinct!

Whatever gets you through the grief!!!!
Fact is...Edwards is done...

12. Not accurate, she only won the senior group (65+). Obama won 30-44 group, Edwards won baby boomers |

14. thanks for the info - the analysis of the 2,136 caucus attendees in the poll is very interesting- |
|
and NBC giving out bad info is to be expected (But then again it may be bad memory on my part). I found Zogby's final poll interesting as the numbers -Obama with a four point lead over 31% to 27%, with Senator Hillary Clinton down to 24% - implying Clinton was "surging" more than O or Edwards in the final 36 hours.
In any case, thanks.
I know the "new voter" percentage was 57%, only slighly higher than 04, as massive number of new voters were buried by massive turnout.
But I would like to see the age breakdown as I suspect more under 30 than in 04 (as a percentage).

13. Uh, strong third? Edwards a weak second? |
|
Edwards 29.75%
Hillary 29.47%
Do the math: .00028 difference. I wouldn't be bragging about how anyone finished. And oh, one more thing. The delegates won?
Obama 16
Clinton 15
Edwards 14
You were saying?
