Why is the DNC attacking Huckabee? |
|
Edited on Fri Jan-04-08 11:29 AM by Herman Munster
I thought they were jumping for joy and encouraging the republicans to make him the nom by their silence. Do they now see him as a serious threat? New attacks on him on the front page. http://www.democrats.org/

Last night should have shown everyone what a real and viable threat Hucksterbee is and is going to continue to be. He is very personable and quite good at 'off the cuff' interviews like his scab appearance on Leno. Do not underestimate the power of the Christian vote, and I am not even talking about the fundie votes...Regardless of Hucksterbee's party affiliation, many will vote for him simply because he was 'a man of the cloth'.

5. He scares me the most, |
|
affable, but venomous and the most "Reganesque" of the bunch.

the repubs have been pushing for Obama....Hucksterbee - the preacher is the only candidate that they can get away with rigging the election for. It won't be racism... it will be 'God's Will'.

4. He is a threat, but he can be defeated |
|
Just look at his record on raising taxes in Arkansas, question his judgment about pardoning a murderer, and then ask if people really want local control taken away from their schools, which Huckabee did via school district consolidation here in AR. These are all issues that matter to conservative voters. I've used them to persuade conservatives not to vote for him.

9. Now is the time. He is not polling well in NH. |
|
Crush him now before he can gain any more momentum.
While I personally would rather we face Huckabee than any of the others, it is a dangerous game to let an opponent build up too much support. Besides, it's not like we won't be attacking the others too.

11. Don't know about the DNC, but I've ALWAYS seen him as a |
|
serious threat.
He's the one candidate that can mobilize the christian conservative base, he has executive experience as governor, and he is very personable. He's always been very lukewarm on the war, and so could pull christian anti-war independents. He doesn't have the scandals that Ghouliani has. He's not a heretic like Romney. He's not stuck in the 80s like McCain.
Now he's gotten a big boost in Iowa.
There's good cause to be worried about him.

12. But he doesn't believe in plate tectonics, or geology, or |
|
astrophysics, or even ice ages, or paleontology, or anything else that describes anything in the physical world if it includes anything that happened more than 5000 years ago. That might be OK for Joe and Jane down the street, but surely, hopefully, we can defeat someone who is running for leader of the country who believes that.
