Possible Kennedy Endorsement Coming? |
|
I am watching Mark Halperin on C-span and he was talking about how We may see a Ted Kennedy endorsement in the next couple of days. Conventional wisdom is that he was sitting it out because of his close friend Chris Dodd. Well Dodd is out now, and he thinks that it is possible that we may see a Kennedy endorsement in the next couple of days, because Dodd is gone. ANy thoughts?

Whoever Ted Kennedy endorses will be honored to have him.

18. If Kennedy endorses it will only be for Obama |

He said long ago he was looking for someone who can unify the country.

14. I think Kerry and Kennedy will both endorse Obama. |
|
Kennedy and Kerry are close and Kerry picked Obama as his keynote speaker in 2004, so I expect both to endorse Obama, and soon.

No one but progressives cares about Ted Kennedy, and most Americans hate him. I can't see how it would have much impact.

8. Who do you think votes in the primaries? |
|
That's where the effect will come. It could be significant unless someone bigger makes an endorsement.

Id say Al Gore and maybe John Kerry, but I think Kennedy is right up there at the top of the endorsement tree.

3. Since The Clintons Made a Point of Rejecting Kennedy Liberalism |
|
In favor of a "third way," I can't see him backing Clinton. I think since Obama best represents the Kennedy spirit, I think he'll give him the thumbs up before the New Hampshire primary.

10. I was SHOCKED & DISAPPOINTED when RFK Jr endorsed Hillary. He made it |

sound like all those adamently opposed to her policies were holding personal vendettas against her. Here was my response: http://journals.democraticunderground.com/mod%20mom/9

He's got ties to both Obama and Clinton, so he'll probably just stay out of it.

12. No clue if there is some truth in this Halperin's whisper, but, in NH, Kennedy's endorsement |
|
would have some weight, as would Kerry's.

19. They are all US Senators and they will all be working together in the Senate.... |
|
.. in 2009, except maybe for one of them - the next President.
I would suggest that Kennedy and Kerry will not indorse and keep that Senate bond Democratic Senators have between them unweakened.

20. I don't foresee any big ticket endorsements before the New Hampshire primary |
|
In the unlikely event that Obama wins NH decisively, then you will see people like Kennedy and Kerry endorsing him. I also see Edwards dropping out and endorsing Obama, thus consolidating all of the "change" vote against the "status quo" represented by Hillary.
The only one losing support in NH right now is Edwards. I saw a poll last night showing that Obama and Hillary went up 4 points a piece, at the expense of Edwards.
