Poll question: If Hillary were to win the Dem. Nomination - would you vote for her? |
|
I'm curious to see what kind of support she would really have from our own party in a General Election.

We cannot lose sight of the very real fact that the "worst Democrat" is better than the best Republican.

But with every passing day, it looks less and less likely that I will have to worry about voting for Hillary Clinton; she's looking less and less "inevitable" as the Democratic nominee, and I can vote for any of the other contenders and enthusiastically support three of them.

a win by her because I see perpetual war, loving lobbyists (the kind I don't like), the DLC for four more years at the minimum, and a Republican media - loaded up for a hate fest. Formidable odds for me the way it looks now. This is a real come down for me - I fought for her and defended her and sent money for causes she solicited - all through the 90's. Something went wrong with me. The war, the lukewarm issues she embraced - while doing nothing for the issues that are important to me - my vote, my Constitution and Bill of Rights, the torture, the killing, the maiming, the theft of mental and spiritual health of our kid-soldiers, absent and missing investigations. She was missing on everything important to me since she became a Senator. Sorry, I'm not saying what some want me to say. I hear her supporters speak for and about her and admit that we are not on the same wave. I can't support the DLC in any form and they are backing her completely, it appears.

No, really, I would vote for her, but that's all I would do. No campaigning, no donations, no yard sign... nothing. And I would brace myself for a republican congress. She's the one and only person that can effectively rally the republican base- their own candidates can't do it, but Hillary can.

That's the same camp i'm in.. would vote begrudgingly.. but would be better then a Republican.
I just started the pole because i've seen a lot of posts that say "I DESPISE HILLARY AND WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR HER" and these are Dems.. so i'm thinking.. is she worse then a Huckabee?
I'm ALL ABOUT Obama.. but if (god forbid) NH explodes and bad things happen after that, and she was the ticket.. i'd vote for her. But I wouldn't brag about it..
Obama 08!

38. Hillary needs to drop out of the race right now. |
|
The DLC demanded that Howard Dean drop out of the race after his third place finish in Iowa. Since Hillary is a DLC candidate, she should live up to their own standards.

I've planned to vote for Clinton since election night 2004, when the unthinkable happened and that idiot from Texas "won" a second term. Of course I didn't know for sure that she was planning on running back then, but it gave me something to look forward to. Now that she is running, I'm doing all I can to convince others to vote for her. Obama is a great guy, and IF he wins the Dem nomination over Clinton, I'll absolutely vote for him, but he's not my first preference. I think experience is the most important asset for our candidate, and Hillary simply has a lot more of it than Obama.
