Let's make the campaign a reality TV show |
|
The mechanics are already in place. Two tribes, exotic locations, secret alliances, obsessed fans, non-stop video.
We just need to take the next step, "Who Wants To Be The Next American President?"
A 12-week campaign, we get to vote off one tribe member every week. We'll grant immunity based on specious polls, ask them rediculous and humiliating question, analyze their runway walk, embarrass them at every opportunity, take them away from anything and everything that grounds them to the real world, and claim it's WHAT THE PEOPLE WANT!
Wonder if I can sell it to VH1?

1. A lot more people would vote that way. |
|
If you let them use their phones.

4. I've been saying that for months... |
|
and especially since the writers' strike.
Not so much the way you describe...lol...but a show that shows the behind-the-scenes work of the various campaigns - showing them canvassing and the kinds of questions people ask and the viewer gets to learn about the candidate through these interactions.
It has to be entertaining to engage America nowadays, but at least it could be factual and informative, unlike MSM.
Of course, there are myriad ways my idea could be butchered and misconstrued, but it was just a thought, a wish. ;-)

12. It's brilliant, and amazingly timely |
|
Written by Gary Trudeau, produced by HBO, it's wicked satire about campaign politics. I got it from my public library. Reccomennded

10. actually that would be better |
|
it could be a form of run off voting, where as the current system if your candidate is a loser for sure your vote doesnt count, this way if your guy gets voted off you get to pick your second choice next, then your third, etc. it would also allow us to see the candidates as individuals without a campaign, hair and makeup people, speech writers, image consultants behind them. Bring it on I say it will be better then the current system and probably more entertaining to
