I'm glad Obama won in Iowa and I'm glad Hillary won tonite.
Hillary thought she was inevitable.
Then Obama proved her wrong.

Obama thought everyone was fired up.
Even Romney changed his speech (haha - what's it going to be tomorrow?)

Both of their egos took a beating.

Hillary was forced to take a step back. I am watching her speech right now.
This is the most genuine I have seen her.

Obama - we will see what he does next.

But I believe they are both better candidates for what happened over the last week.

We now have 2 candidates that are going to be sincerely working their tails off for us.
They cannot take the voters for granted ever again.

5. me too! I love that NH didn't mimic Iowa this time around
Don't get me wrong, I love Obama! But I DO NOT want one state determining everything again! Finally, each state thinking for itself. And I pray this system of caucusing, etc. is done away with by '16.

3. I concur...
Had Obama won tonight he would be considered illegitimate. Now he will have to fight for it and become vetted.

6. My thoughts exactly - this will just make each of them stronger
and that can only help for what's to come in the battle for the general election...

7. the losses were good for both of them and both
handled the adversity well. I am a Clinton supporter, but Obama came up a notch in my estimation. Which ever one wins the nomination will be a better candidate in the general. Now Edwards looks like he's on the ropes and not handling it too well; he looks like toast to me.

8. I'm glad we are starting to gain some perspective.

Hillary got trounced in Iowa

Bzzzt. Wrong. She came in third, but delegate-wise, we had Obama with 15, Edwards with 14 and Clinton with 13. That's not a "trouncing" — that's nearly a three-way tie.

Hillary won New Hampshire

After the cheap shots that Hillary has taken, particularly in the last day with the "emotion moment," I'm pleased to see her get this feather in her cap. The Freepers were drooling over the prospect of another "trouncing" and they didn't get to have their fun. I love it.

Was Obama's popularity repudiated? No. Both Clinton and Obama will get 9 delegates from New Hampshire, so really, they tied for first place. Edwards scored a respectable third.

48 to go

I'm rooting for an Edwards come-from-behind. All three front-running candidates now have an handful of delegates but there are many, many more yet to win. Polling indicates that in the end, Senator Clinton will come away with the bulk of them, but as we saw today, polls of primary voters should be taken with a grain metric ton of salt.

9. It is still too early and I want a real race
The rest of the country hasn't voted yet and their voices deserve to be heard.
