To all Edwards Supporters
And those who seem to think he should drop out.

Throughout history great causes have, in the moment, often been in doubt which in retrospect appear to be inevitable victories. There are many such great struggles that appeared lost that were later won, and in those moments I bet that there were people trying to urge those on the front to give up, but this did not happen.

Thermopylae was a glorious but doomed last stand that led to a crushing victory at Platea.

Falkirk was a disaster that later on would be followed by Bannockburn.

The crushing defeat of the Americans at the Battle of Long Island was followed shortly after by victories at Trenton and Princeton.

The Allied rout at Kasserine Pass was not the end of Operation Torch, merely a bump in the road followed by the crushing triumph at El Guittar and the invasion of Sicily.

By the end of 1941 most of the world thought Russia survived Barbarossa by luck but by Kursk in 1943 they proved that the Allies did not need luck to beat the Nazis.

And so to you who urge us all to drop our support just because the going gets tough, in the spirit of the great American patriot John Paul Jones all I have to say is, "I have not yet begun to fight!"

Considering he didn't win ANY of the first FIVE primaries or caucuses in 92?

3. NOT my buddy, but he was THE master at the time!
I'm an Edwards backer also, but was referring to Gary Hart's run for Pres some years ago. He was the leader in the early polling, but when some picture came out of him with some bimbo on his lap, sitting in the back of some yacht, that was the end of his careeer. My point being You never know what can happen, and Edwards could be right back in it.

14. Drop out? Give up? No way!
High Hopes!

Anyone recall the song "High Hopes"? With some tweaks, JFK used it in his presidential campaign. The song's been running through my head all day. Maybe now it'll run through yours too. :-)

Next time your found, with your chin on the ground
There's a lot to be learned, so look around

Just what makes that little old ant
Think he'll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can't
Move a rubber tree plant

But he's got high hopes, he's got high hopes
He's got high apple pie, in the sky hopes

So any time you're gettin' low
'stead of lettin' go
Just remember that ant
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant

When troubles call, and your backs to the wall
There's a lot to be learned, that wall could fall

Once there was a silly old ram
Thought he'd punch a hole in a dam
No one could make that ram, scram
He kept buttin' that dam

'cause he had high hopes, he had high hopes
He had high apple pie, in the sky hopes

So any time your feelin' bad
'stead of feelin sad
Just remember that ram
Oops there goes a billion kilowatt dam

All problems are just a toy balloon
They'll be bursted soon
They're just bound to go pop
Oops there goes another problem kerplop

Go, John Edwards! :patriot:

12. or even Reagan in 1976
He didn't do anything until the North Carolina primary and came within a hair of beating a sitting president in the primary. Edwards should, and will, stay in this to the convention.

5. if edwards isn't in, i'm probably out
i see edwards and his message as one of the last gasps this country has. hillary is republican lite; obama is way too "let's all make nice."

there are two americas. the poor do get screwed every time they turn around. corporations and lobbyists are, indeed, running this country.

if edwards doesn't make it in, i don't see either of the other two making a difference. therefore, i don't see myself voting in the general election.

6. If we can get the US media to inform the people about the Sibel information,
this could all turn around. You see, people are going to wonder if Hillary is capable of repairing the weaknesses that even existed during her husband's presidency. If people are, indeed, afraid of another strike on US soil, then they really will shit a brick when they realize how corrupted our intelligence agencies are.

So, if the voters are really afraid of another attack, wouldn't the candidate who could show that he is knowledgeable about the weaknesss in our agencies, and can show he has a plan to correct them, prove that he is moving this country in the right direction?

I'm not down, but excited because this is only the beginning.

I'm with Edwards until the end, and will not defect to the "winning" team.

16. John TELL THE CORPORATISTS TO.. STICK IT UP WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE!
There is evidence anecdotal and statistical that there was shenanigans in New Hampshire. Let's just keep chugg'n along... They're NOT pushing Richardson or Kucinich to pull the plug... So Why The F*ck should John Edwards? F*ck 'crooks worse than you know who are the Bushes... so Stick IT To 'em Johnny!

This is the Tortoise and the Hare... The Longer you stick the More your message is going to stick because their calls for your ouster will become increasingly shrill and UNFAIR!

25. The Only People I'm Really Upset With Right Now Are The Edwards
supporters JUMPING SHIP!! It's pretty offensive and tells me a lot about them! Have to go with a perceived winner... why stand up and fight for what you believe in!! But, in America for some it's ONLY ABOUT who may win!
