One caucus down, one primary down, NOTHING and I mean NOTHING but good news for Democrats |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 09:07 AM by wndycty
Record turnouts! Record turnouts! Record turnouts! Regardless of who wins the Democratic nomination these record turnouts and the ability to attract independents and moderate Republicans has to scare the shit out of the GOP!
And more earned media time than you can imagine. Think about this, Obama wins Iowa with record turnout and is the media darling.
Then this week, John McCain stages an unbelievable comeback, but, but, but guess what? So does Hillary and steals his headlines (had Obama won, McCain would have gotten better press).
But the big F/U to the GOP came this morning when THE TODAY SHOW teased that both Clinton and McCain would be on and they led with Clinton, when she was done I expected them to go to McCain, BUT NO who did they go to? OBAMA!!! McCain was the 3rd candidate.
I'm passionate about Obama, but still love Hillary (OK, she and I are having problems right now. . .LOL, but I still love her and her husband that loveable ego maniac).
FOLKS AS DEMOCRATS THIS IS OUR YEAR. LETS CONTINUE THE RECORD TURN OUTS, LETS CONTINUE TO FIGHT IT OUT, BUT KEEP OUR EYES ON THE PRIZE.
Now back to our intra-party brawl!
Can a brutha get a K&R up in here?

5. Yes and we have to remember that. . . |
|
. . .something special is happening here and we have to work hard to make sure these record turn outs continue and benefit us in the general election.

Despite the regular primary season party infighting, the momentum is definitely on the Democrats' side, regardless of who ultimately wins the nomination. I just hope we can keep that momentum through November. The media may be with us for now, but I fear that they will ultimately turn on us once the candidates for both parties have been decided.
But you're right, the moderates and independents are with us for the most part, and that is terrific news!

9. Now the rest of the country can have a say. |

If O won yesterday there was a danger that the primaries would have been over before most of the country had a chance to weigh in on it.
Thanks Yankees.

I hope this continues. The excitement of a close primary season is a good thing, especially for some of us left-wing Democrats who feel left out. The longer we go without a clear front-runner the more the candidates have to listen to their base, as well as independents and Republicans who are sick of Bush.

That's my line, and I'm stickin' to it.
Yes, I'm pro-Edwards, yes, that's who is getting my money.
But come November, I'll be out working for whoever isn't going to nominate conservatives to the Supreme Court. Even if it's Ralphie Wiggam....
