I don't get it. I think Hillary and John Edwards are both vigorous, intelligent, at the prime of their intellect. Are we so youth-centric now that we consider them done with?

2. I'm referring to his comments that the day of the Baby Boom generation
(of which he is a part, by some calculations) is over. Since both Edwards and Hillary are Baby Boomers, I guess he's saying, that's it for them.

We've never been a culture that valued our seniors as much as some countries do, but that's a little ridiculous!

5. I remember that comment.
And didn't appreciate it much. It's one of the reasons I am turned off by him.

8. Obama regularly insults the Boomers
Edited on Wed Jan-09-08 07:58 PM by NYCALIZ
because birthyear makes such a difference in your character and style of dealing with the world and your responsibility for all that ails our society

he convenient forgets that he's born a baby boomer as well.
he pretends he's post-boomer

plays well with the kids that don't bother to look for any facts from him

He's been glad to have me in Obama-World. You're pushing propaganda, nothing else.

11. I've actually posted links on this subject several times
I just find it disturbing. I am slightly older than Obama. I consider that I (and he) are Baby Boomers. I should be hitting my stride, not getting pushed out of the way.

15. I was careful about my sources
which included the NYTimes. It's pretty well documented that Obama feels that the day of the boomer is gone. Plus, he referred disparagingly to "Tom Hayden Democrats". Now, Tom Hayden is a lot older than I am, but I respect him and I respect what he stands for and I don't want that thrown away.

A friend of mine went to a Drinking Liberally last night and had a terrible time convincing people - women, she said - that sexism still exists, or worse, that it did exist and that people like Hillary really cleared the way for women in the workforce. I see it with my own (women) bosses - they were trailblazers!

I think it was Howard Kurtz on Ed Schultz today who summed it up this way: he said his wife told him that a lot of women saw Hillary as representing a woman in the workplace who'd been there for years, fought hard and paid her dues, only to be passed over for a promotion in favor of some bright young guy who'd only had a couple of years there. I think there are plenty of people who can relate to this on a visceral level.

20. Only to people looking to invent fights
Where did this come up? I was at the Obama rally last night in Nashua and I saw a lot of college kids, but also a huge number of people much, much older than that.

Ahm, where did this come from?
