John Kerry Positioning for a VP Spot? |
|
It is known that Kerry thought about jumping into the 2008 race, but decided against it. Another way of looking at this endorsement is in terms of a VP nomination. Kerry is experienced, a war vet, tons of respect within the Democratic Party. He fits well with Obama...other than the fact that he lost in 2004. Despite the swiftboating ads and all...it was a shady loss anyway...Bush didn't wipe the floor with Kerry or anything. And didn't John carry the popular vote?

Obama doesn't really need to deal with the Massachusetts liberal thing. I think it's an honest endorsement.

Why would he have to quit the Senate to run for VP when he didn't have to to run for Pres.?
Honestly, I think this is much closer to the real reason for this endorsement than anything said thus far.

4. I see Richardson as a distinct possibility, no matter who wins |
|
the nomination. He's got a great resume and would provide regional balance to Obama, Clinton or Edwards. Plus, his presence on the ticket would really kill Republics with the Hispanic vote, where they've already been tanking due to their immigration stance.
If not, maybe Richardson as Sec. of State. He's done more good than Condi Rice, and he's only governor of New Mexico.

8. Too many people are still... |
|
pissed because he ceded the election. They wanted him to 'fight' to have all 'their' votes counted. Although...maybe that doesn't matter anymore?

10. A john Kerry endorsement is like ....... |
|
A kiss of death to a campaign and he probably didnt endorse Edwards because he got pissed off with him for not carry his own state in 04.
Seriously I liked Kerry when he ran in 04 but I he lost all credibility when he gave up the fight with a whimper.
