Is it really a good reason to vote for someone because you feel other people are being mean to them? |
|
I think it's a big mistake to "pick a president" on the basis of people "being mean" to them. I've seen more than a few people say they wouldn't have DREAMED of voting for her but they were tired of all the negative coverage of her tearing up or of how she was written off before the NH primary even took place, so they're changing their vote to her. (Of course I'm talking about Hillary).

His form of defense is never to counter the argument --it's to claim he's being victimized by ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK

The fact is --that Obama's tactics are one of the reasons I am not supporting him at the moment.
and frankly --much of what Obama and his supporters call "smears" are simply comments which are true.

BTW --Hillary didn't say those things --and those that did are no longer with her because of it.
But the matter at hand is -- Does Obama use attacks against him in a way to garner sympathy for being attacked?
Please --he claimed discussing what he wrote in Kindergarten was an attack! Boohoobama. The nasty woman is picking on me! Send me money!

Funny how these things were put out there "without Hillary's knowledge." Shaheen said those things on his own? Without consulting with Hillary first? He's no low-level staffer.
There's a difference between raising money off of someone else's attacks and lies and crying/tearing up to show a sympathetic side (after being criticized for being cold).

2. She tapped into a very important demographic- |
|
My divorced older mother who struggled to raise me on her own felt serious sympathy for her. She also mentioned she wasn't ready to turn the reigns over to the "next" generation. Also, I think the 60s/Vietnam era folks just don't want to admit their time has passed (thank god) and therefore they are relectant to pass the torch.

10. So sympathy is a reason to vote for someone? |
|
57% of voters in NH were women and from all women I saw interviewed, they decided at the last minute because of how she was "ganged up on" and "showed emotion." How are those factors qualifications to be president?

He wanted people to see that she was being mean to him. So if he can go for the Hillary attacked me vote, she can go for the they are attacking me vote. So, she came out with her own web site, which was tacky cuz Obama came out with it first.

6. That's true, but I think there was more to that Hillary vote than that. |
|
I dont live in NH, but I have also heard that the peple of MH renotoriouslyindependant and they don't like Iowa, the media, or anyone else teling the who to vote for. Even I felt the media was pissed at the apparent annointing of Barack after his Iowa victory. They all did othing buy claim he was a lock for the nomination. If that is done about any candidae before I vote, it will turn me to ote for someone else.
NOTHING made me happier than tosee all the "experts" have to eat crow on Tue/Wed.
Barack very wel might be the Dem. nominee, but I don't think any of us wanted to see the corporate media to make that decision for us after ONE caucus!

That's been my observation. That's not a slam on Hillary specifically, the same could be said for someone who votes for Obama out of black pride, or Edwards out of a feeling of blue-collar solidarity. A lot of people aren't choosing a President, they're choosing an image or sentiment.

If you perceive someone as being unfairly picked on... that automatically makes them fundamentally fair?
