Thank you Hillary and Barack for letting this race turn ugly in January.
You have done exactly what the GOP wants you to do. Now for the next 8 months we have to hear about how one or the other is racist or sexist. From our own side. If this continues for the next 8 months--we will surely lose the election in November.

1. It's really not them as much as it is all the noise around them.
Who here truly believes that Hillary's a racist or Obama's a sexist?

All the sqabbles stem from other doofi who've taken it upon themselves to stir some shit up. Then another set of doofi who knee-jerk back.

The media is eating this shit up.

2. It is because of SC--Obama's political strategy is to unite the black
voters against Clinton using the race card. The timing is no accident.

They will pounce on any statement, twist it, and shout RACISM!! from the rooftops.

3. That's a misrepresentation at best and
a flat out lie at worst. He has never shouted racism or made any remark to that effect.

Sorry to see you doing something so repugnant.

8. HIs surrogates have. He is using the old political tactic of having
his underlings do the dirty work, while he appears to be above the fray.

Look: it would be political suicide for Clinton to be using racism so close to SC. And if you read the statements, they are not racist. "Fairy Tale?" It was taken out of context, distorted, and shouts of racism were heard around the MSM. Conversely, to unite the black voters (of which there is a high percentage in SC) is a good strategy. And that is what they are attempting to do.

And frankly, for you to suggest that I am horrible for suggesting this--while suggesting that Clinton IS using race--I find disturbing.

11. What surrogates? where?
Meanwhile, Hillary, Bill, and their own people really do try to destroy Obama and then play concern troll games about how they're just testing him because he has to be prepared for what the Republicans are going to do to him.

The Clintons are transferring their own nasty, mudslinging, negative actions on Obama. Period. They hope that if they do it long enough and loudly enough, that people will believe them and Obama will be covered in the dirt they sling. They hope that Obama responds in turn so that their own nastiness is somehow justified after the fact.

That's disgusting, and we should not be supporting putting that type of nastiness in the White House.

We need leaders, not what the Clintons represent.

14. Wow you are really blind to the reality of what is going on.
Have you not seen the stuff Obama has been doing behind the scenes? Have you not seen the story about his staff asking the MSM when they were going to start talking about Bill Clinton's affairs? Have you not seen the lies and distortions Obama has used to attack Clinton?

You are biased.

17. bwahahaha
and you're not biased at all. Oh, no. How the fuck would you know what Obama is doing behind the scenes, cupcake? It's behind the scenes, duh, and you're not. You can't name one person beyond Jesse Jackson Jr who's made untoward comments. Yes, the stuff about Clinton and affairs sucks, but so does the crap lying email the Clinton campaign sent out in NH, saying Obama didn't support choice.

You say that Obama uses lies and distortions to attack Clinton, but provide NOTHING in the way of evidence

That's a smear artist tactic.

Clinton:

Kerrey
Penn
Cuomo
Iowa volunteer coordinators
Shaheen

Obama:

Jesse Jackson Jr

I have NEVER said that Clinton or Bill are using race. I never said any comments by Hillary or Bill were racist, let alone the fairy tale comment. I have said that some of her surrogates and supporters have. Why do you think Shaheen is gone? Why do you think she personally apologized? Why do you think those volunteer coordinators in Iowa are gone?

"his underlings are doing the dirty work"

Laugable and just pitiful.

You're raising hypcrisy to a rare height. Congrats.

Any statement made by anyone no matter how tenuous the ties to Clinton (I saw them suggesting that they thought she was a good Senator) is sufficient to label them a Clinton surrogate. I am just using the DU definitions to describe Obama's surrogates.

Double standards abound on DU.

9. Why are these people lying about Obama?
What has he ever done to them? Why is there so much hatred from the Clintons against a man who obviously does not want to hate anyone, but wants to bring people together, even if it means Democrat and Republican?

The man's life is about being a bridge.

Just because he doesn't immediately lick and fawn over Clinton boots and doesn't play the game as Sharpton and Jackson have done.

This is deplorable.

4. that's a damn lie -- by the way, I answered regarding Clinton's lies against Obama
here's the link:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=4035604&mesg_id=4041062

*Clinton lies about Obama's Abortion Record;
* Clinton claims (wrongly) Obama was only a Part Time Senator;
* AFSCME, Emily's List Deny Any Role In Anti-Obama 527 Scheme)

Obama has specifically ran his campaign so that race is NOT the cornerstone. He has ran an INCLUSIVE, non-racial campaign; and people don't know what to do about it.

Contrast that with 'I'm Your Girl' Hillary, who has made being a woman and getting back at men her number one selling point; even with this past debate last Saturday, where she specifically mentioned being the first woman president as a reason to vote for her! Not what she can do for the country, but what the country can do for her to put her in the history books.

I hope you are a Clinton supporter, to explain why you would sully Obama like this.

12. So, you are going to ignore that distortions from the Obama campaign?
This is politics. Issues, records are not off limits. Obama's lack of voting record IS an issue.
You are giving a list of issues--where there were no lies. Check his record.

But to use race to unite black voters against Clinton is crossing a line. I am deeply offended that anyone would do this--and that it would be ok for anyone to do this.

19. Edwards: "The Clinton Campaign Has No Conscience"
I don't want to hear it. You can diss Clinton, that campaign draws first blood. But how can you diss Obama? Or are you one of those Edwards supporters who is inching towards Clinton if Edwards drops out?

From what I've seen, Edwards has sided with Obama in the debates, not Hillary. I think it's strategy on Edwards part, and he can take or leave Obama but he's figured Hillary needs to be taken out worse than Obama. I don't think Hillary can stand either one of those men, but it's 'easier' to cap on Obama specifically, because 'race' is easier than 'beware of men'.

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0108/Edwards_The_Clinton_campaign_has_no_conscience.html

Edwards responded sharply to a Clinton aide's criticism today, intensifying a back-and-forth that began at last night's debate, after Clinton said Nataline Sarkisyan could be alive if the patients bill of rights, which he'd boasted of championing, had passed.

"The Clinton campaign has no conscience," Edwards said, after Clinton spokesman Jay Carson said Edwards does no more than "read articles about people who need help and talk about them."

"The idea that everything is about them that they have no conscience," Edwards said of the Clinton campaign, my colleague Josh Kraushaar reports. "I'm very surprised by the comments."

Or is fighting back only acceptable in your world when your candidate does it?

http://www.abcnews.go.com/Politics/Story?id=3694881&page=1

In a scathing attack, Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards went after front-runner Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., Friday, calling her a "corporate Democrat," comparing top Clinton campaign strategist Mark Penn to former Bush aide Karl Rove and assailing Penn's ties to Blackwater USA, the embattled private firm of military contractors accused by the Iraqi government of firing upon and killing 11 unarmed Iraqi civilians last month.

"Bush has been a perfect example of cronyism because Blackwater has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to Republicans and to President Bush," Edwards said in an interview with the Associated Press while campaigning in Iowa. "I also saw this morning that Sen. Clinton's primary adviser, Mark Penn, who is like her Karl Rove -- his firm is representing Blackwater."

27. It has really been relatively mild compared to many.
This is politics. It's a rumble. That's life. It happens on all sides. The right wingers on the R side are bashing the hell out of each other right now. Ours has been mild compared to theirs.
As I always say, "Democrats, don't bash each othere incessently and unfairly, but it is fine to get a little loud and point out differences, then be friends at the end of the day." It's a rough game. Gotta have the stomach for it, or don't engage. And rightfully so ! It's called a debate. It's called democracy.

29. This exemplifies why I never supported them, and never will.
They are too much your typical, opportunistic, over-ambitious, American politicians, despite what they say. Of course they're going to say they represent something new, something different. It's just like a new laundry detergent. They advertise that it's new and improved, but all they've really done is put the soap in a new package. It still washes the same as it always did. But the gimmick works, and just like a majority allowed themselves to be taken in by the 9/11-Saddam Hussein-mushroom cloud rhetoric during the buildup to the invasion of Iraq, a majority of Americans, in this case Democrats, have allowed themselves to be taken in by hype, an activity that has come to define our gullible nation. And, yes, the Republicans have it going on too.
