Emotions and Politics
It is far past time to put this silly issue to rest. The whole issue of crying being "bad" goes back to Ed Muskie, and that is so long ago we all need to develop beyond this.

It isn't about "good" or "bad", or "feminine" or "masculine"... it's about being HUMAN. Human beings have emotions. That is NOT BAD... it's simply how it is. Making emotions "bad" is, IMO, what has gotten us into the whole mess we're in now!

Leaders aren't allowed to cry or be afraid, so what do we have.... they act out their emotions in creating wars, etc. Suppressed emotions don't just disappear...... they turn up in other ways, and usually destructive.

If what has been seen as "good" is "masculine", i.e. suppressing emotions, then that is what women bring to the world of politics, business, and the rest of life: HONESTY of expression.

If we were all to be honest and express our fears and our sadness and our need for support and acceptance, this would be a healthier world.

Can we put this to rest, and allow EVERYONE their own freedom of EXPRESSION? Not because it's "strong", or anything else having to do with IMAGE, but because we are all, under the skin, human beings, and our need to be healthy involves the ability to know and express what we are feeling.

Enough of all the "you're too sensitive" junk, and "grow a skin". It's akin to the sandbox "crybaby" crap.

We need to reach for health in this area.
