Among Democrats, Clinton leads over 'uncommitted'
By BEN SCHMITT and KATHLEEN GRAY

Hillary Rodham Clinton easily beats "uncommitted" among likely voters in Michigan’s Democratic primary, the Detroit Free Press-Local 4 Michigan Poll shows.

Still, the question remains whether Clinton can claim a decisive victory Tuesday if her 56%-30% lead in the poll holds up. Her main rivals, Barack Obama and John Edwards, removed their names from the Michigan ballot.

If the other major contenders were on the ballot, Clinton still would win with 46% of the vote, the poll shows. Obama would receive 23% and Edwards would get 13%.
The poll also shows 42% of the uncommitted vote going to Obama.

University of New Hampshire associate political science professor Dante Scala said anything less than 40% would be viewed as an embarrassment for Clinton.

1. After NH its dangerous to rely on a poll at this point plus no one else is on the ballot so its...
mean less.

3. Like the article states...
If she gets under 40% then it may look bad for her, people will have a hay day.

2. Most dems won't even bother to vote. Michigan is no gauge of the country
clinton should have taken her name off of the ballot. Debbie Dingle who runs the michigan democratic party here is a clinton fan. The fact that the voters of michigan were disenfranchised by this move of the Michigan Democratic party is contemptable given the gravity of the vote this year.

Also, michigan dems have been recieving "strategy emails" from various groups telling them to vote for Romney and Paul to deflect votes from McCain.

You do understand, dont you, that the DNC has stripped michigan of all of its delegates because it moved it primary up?

The vote on tuesday means zip.

4. The same thing happens with Florida
because of moving the date for its primary forward. So the Hillary advantage in Fla. is more abstract and psychological and not really concrete and practical for the final delegate count.

5. You really don't have the whole story. Clinton and the others all had the choice
to leave their names on the ballot. Hell Kucinich left his name on. The DNC will not decide for me who or how I vote. Nobody forced Edwards or Obama to bow down to the DNC. So they capitulated, they effectively abandoned their voters in Michigan. If that's their idea of courage and strength, screw it. Even Gravel had the balls to leave his name on and screw the DNC.

And believe me, Michigan Dem. voters will not forget the DNC on this....

10. that's the way I see it too. You shouldn't diss any voters.
HC did not campaigning in MI but she sure did not remove her name, nor did she have to. Staying on the ballot broke no rules.
