Hypocrisy Underground?
Edited on Mon Jan-14-08 12:39 AM by mrdemocrat78
You know, all I read the other day was how NASTY the Obama supporters were on here, and how they do not embody Obama's message. Post after post all I read is how Obama supporters are mean and rude... But I got to say, the sharpest tongues around here are not coming from that camp.

Everything I have read today and yesterday involving Obama has had a rude personal attack from a clinton supporter, and I just have to call you out on the hypocrisy there.

You go on and on and on about how we are acting childish and rude, and then you do the same thing.

You remind me of Bush when he said he was going restore honor to the presidency. Then he said... well Clinton did it too... when he started getting called on how he has screwed up.

You can't imitate the actions of another person, and then take the liberty upon yourself to condemn them for it too.

However, you do have one thing right. Obama's message is about bringing people together, and we have not represented it very well. I hope we can change that.

On the other side, as of late Hillary has DEFINITELY NOT been about uniting people, and you sure as hell have done a great job representing her on that.

Thanks on the lesson on how to by a "hypocritical" democrat. I thought we were leaving that to the republicans.

13. No, I dont' think so
And thank you for illustrating my point. Whenever I try to compormise with one of you... HillDog fans, you can't seem to give even an inch.

And anyone who has read my post, know I'm telling the truth. I have tried to reason with so many of you, and gotten nowhere. It's been like talking to a wall.

Also...

I have read and watched all this garbage from Hillary about Obama said this and Obama said that, and how dirty he is... only... I haven't heard Obama attacking ANYONE.

If you claim to be an agent of change, and say want to change the country, you can't play the same old political games. It's empty rhetoric, and we've had enough of that. If you want to make a change, begin by changing the way you play the game.

28. You say that you haven't heard Obama attack anyone. Same here.
You say that you haven't heard Obama attack anyone. Same here.

And yet I haven't heard him say much about anything but some cock-eyed bipartisan hope. I agree that if he were elected our first black president, it would be an event to celebrate. Unfortunately, I don't believe that he has my back. He is just the same status quo candidate disguised by another skin. If elected we can all hope that he figures out a way to deal with the obstructionist GOP that he hopes to change.

It's even worse for me when I consider the Clintons. Why don't they know when to leave (well enough alone)? She is going to parade on her pussy, but her record is all dick. (I know that I could have presented that better, but this is the DU.) Why are they so desperate to be in the White House again? History tells us that they didn't exactly get a lot right the first time. (Telecommunications consolidation, DADT, NAFTA, etc.) How am I really supposed to reconsider her record when she STILL won't?

My biggest fear is that the next Democratic presidency will be a one term, kind of like Carter. He did many great things in his four years and beyond, I would rank him in the top five Presidents of the 20th century. In hindsight, he was set-up to fail and be sabotaged. That was then. It's even worse now. We cannot play nice with our opposition's fascist grip on our government. (It the f-word suddenly offended you, scroll up. I already offended some sensibilities.)

In summary, I want to believe that Amerika can elect anything on their own in a fair, verifiable election. (Talk about fairy tales.) Our democracy and country have been driven into a ditch by the compliance and representation of both parties. However much the first whatever POTUS makes us feel good about ourselves, we will still be stuck in the same ditch without a prayer of getting out.

We need more and better Democrats in order to move forward.

What season/episode are you referring?

And yes it's that bad that we are linking South Park with Hard Ball, etc. There is no truth here.

As a percentage, how many Republicans posting on these rumored DU threads:

volunteered to distract from massive systemic Republican failures?
are massive systemic Republican failures?

18. If nothing else I am a STAUNCH democrat
and I am just sick of seeing us eat our own with this frivolous bickering. We should be focused on uniting each other. What we are doing now... all this bs... it's just what the republicans want.

I have said repeatedly, that I will support whomever our candidate is. But that doesn't count.

9. What do you hope to accomplish with this post?
I wonder this every time I see a very clear "anti-whomever" post.... What do they hope to accomplish? I certainly don't think you will convert from the candidate you clearly oppose. So, it is just making people upset. What do you gain?

15. I guess I hope to change some attitudes...
Don't sit there and call us out when you are doing the same thing. I suppose I am trying to be a voice of reason to where all reason has been lost.

I suppose I am trying to get Obama supporters to stop playing back. I suppose I am trying to get Hillary supporters to see that we are all supposed to be in this together.

I suppose I am trying to make people realize that we are supposed to be better than the republicans. We are supposed to see that what they are doing amongst each other is tearing their party apart, and we should not make the same mistakes.

It's called compromise. I give a little, you give a little. that is what I am trying to accomplish. I just wish it wasn't falling on deaf ears.

that "I am doing the same thing. No. You are not going to change anyone's mind towards your or any other candidate with this tactic. Intellectual dishonesty, as per your accusation towards me, will only harden those who have made a choice of a specific candidate and irritate those (such as me) who have not.
