How sad. How unsurprising. Clinton takes the high ground at the
same moment that one of her surrogates launches an ugly attack. This is a pattern. I wish it weren't happening and that she wasn't doing this shit, but she is, and I can't ignore it. Yes, I believe it's orchestrated. It's been going on now for months.

And it is deplorable.

4. Good observation, and thanks for posting this.
Speaking just for myself, it hurts to see this crap from Bill and Hillary. I had such massive regard for them. Hillary's behavior I understand, but President Clinton is tossing his reputation into the dust at this point. He is doing no favors for Hillary, IMHO.

5. Obama's been doing the same thing the entire campaign
He follows the "politics of hope" (wink, wink) while his surrogates do his dirty work for him. Jesse Jackson Jr. is one good example. Another is when David Axlerod lied, contradicting what he said on national television in 2004 about Edwards, about Edwards' record in an effort to smear Edwards. Obama has run as dirty a campaign as Hillary.

12. Nonsense, but I expect nothing else from you .
Clinton surrogates:

Kerrey
Shaheen
Cuomo
Johnson
Rangel

Other:

volunteer coordinators sending out "Mulim Obama" email
email in NH lying about Obama's record on choice
Clinton campaign harassing Obama poll workers
Bill lying about Obama's record against the war
Clinton supporters filing law suit to disenfranchise voters

Not even close, pookie.

16. Obama's list
Obama surrogates:

Jackson Jr.
Axlerod
Chris Rock
Barack Obama himself distorting Edwards' record in New Hampshire
Barack Obama himself saying Hillary is like Bush and Cheney

Other:

Obama campaign memo implying the Clintons are racist or at least race-baiting
Obama spokesman implying the Clintons are racist or at least race-baiting
Obama campaign smearing Hillary Clinton on trade/outsourcing

These are things that quickly come to mind. There is probably more. What a "hopeful" and "positive" campaign.

Only the Obama campaign has thrown an entire group under the bus.

Rock played the race card and basically said blacks should vote for Obama because he is black. He referred to Hillary as "the old white lady."

I'm finally beginning to understand why 50% of Americans dislike her.

She could never be a president of all Americans because too many just hate her.

We are crazy to nominate a person this despised.

37. Sometimes the idiocy on this board is astounding
I am NOT a Clinton defender by any stretch of the imagination, but the manufactured outrage over *gasp* politically motivated campaign tactics is bloody amazing. I don't think I've ever seen a campaign for office of least state senate level in which this tactic wasn't employed, usually very successfully. ALL the campaigns are currently doing this, on both sides.

If you people could take off your candidate blinders for a change, you might be amazed at what you could see.

39. Are You Suggesting The Clintons Put Out a Black Congressman
As a surrogate on purpose? I am sure that, like Bob Kerrey and Bill Shaheen and Robert L. Johnson, he's just winging it.

She listened to New Hampshire voters and, in doing so, found her voice. And by "voice," she means a baseball bat to Obama's head.

40. I'm suggesting that Hillary doesn't have enough control of her surrogates...
-or-

She's putting them out there to say this shit.

It has to be one or the other.

As far as Rangel is concerned, I wonder if it was more a case of unfortunate timing. Obama extended his olive branch before Hillary did. Perhaps his comments were in response to Obama's and just so happened to coincide with Hillary's remarks.

But then again, maybe not.

That's the problem when this pattern of Clinton negativity keeps repeating itself. You want to give them the benefit of the doubt...but then again, maybe not.
