GE and MSNBC hate Democracy...do something about it...please!
I simply can't believe that GE/MSNBC is appealing the decision to have Kucinich participate in tonight's debate. LET'S MAKE THEM REGRET THIS DECISION BY TELLING THE PUBLIC AND THE CEO THAT DEMOCRACY IS STRONGER THAN ANY CORPORATION OR CEO!!! MAKE GE APOLOGIZE!!!

Chairman and CEO, Jeffrey R. Immelt. He is the one ultimately responsible for this decision.

Email GE Corporate HQ here:

https://www.ge.com/contact/contact_form.html

or call at 1-203-373-2211

Ask for Jeffrey Immelt.

Then ask him about his quote which is prominently displayed at the homepage of GE:

"I am out talking about this company seven days a week, 24 hours a day, with nothing to hide. We're a 129-year-old company that has a great record of high-quality leadership and a culture of integrity."

He said it, NOW CALL HIM ON IT!!!

Hit the phones and email as well....let's get GE's Immelt for trying to destroy our DEMOCRACY!!!

Thank you!

1. What would work better is that if the other Demo candidates would insist on including
all or none.

2. here's what i just sent:
"Guess what the biggest threat to our democracy is? Not Al Quaeda, not Iran, not Iraq. It's our very own media! It is your place to REPORT the news, not MAKE it. You have no right to decide who may participate in a debate that is presented for the electorate. You, CNN and Fox are becoming a laughing stock out here in the real America. You might want to remember what you were taught in journalism school, if in fact you ever did attend......."

thanks for the link.

Otherwise, nice letter.

4. I got thru and sent to his office....
they tried to blame it on Zucker (sp?) over at the network. I said that Immelt is ultimately responsible for his underling's behavior of trying to destroy our Democracy...then I was transferred to Zucker told them the same thing.

7. Itried again since you got through. I was so polite and said I supported Edwards but
that corporate owned media shouldn't be involved with the debates at all. This should be done by public tv. All candidates should participate in a free and open democracy, we as voters need to hear an array of ideas. So I think political debates should be removed from corporate owned tv.

8. Why doesn't PBS host the debates... are't they publically
funded and supported... or are all those corporate commercials and corporate sponsors on PBS taking over there, too?

GE is one of my least liked corporations. I'd love to see it broken up.

9. Thanks for the link
I just emailed them and expressed my dismay over their exclusion of anyone who is a declared candidate for President, be they Democrat or Republican. The media certainly should not decide our candidates for us. And I told them that.

15. And of course GE hates
Kucinich's message of Peace since they make a bundle of $$ off of war.

Thanks for calling and writing.

16. YW and I appreciate the information you posted, our party and the
candidates did not say anything.

In Iowa when you needed an office and then they said it had to be a storefront not a home office and they let Alan Keyes into the Republican debate.

We heard nothing :(

17. Peace doesn't sell GE jet engines...
I just hate what Corporations are doing to do this world. The Progressives should pick a couple of huge corporations and really go after them with all we have...my picks are GE and MONSANTO!!! If the American people really knew what they are doing, they would never buy another GE dishwasher or Round-up again.

18. True, but here we are trapped by the censored media. It is
probably the largest obstacle we face, tonight is a blatant FU to the citizens IMO.

19. Zucker is the head of NBC....his boss
is Immelt at GE. I have always felt that the public needs a face to be angry at...saying that NBC and GE are anti-democracy doesn't give anyone a place to pinpoint their anger and dismay. But by going after these 2 men could have an effect.

I wish I had a ton of $$ so to hire a progressive PR firm and let them at these 2 guys...I think I'll go sleep on this idea and see what I can dream up. These rich ceo guys put on their pants like everyone else...they don't like bad publicity especially personal. But I do think people take their Democracy personally.

I don't know if we at DU or Kos could start something that could go viral...that's what we need.

I'm attending a Media Training Thursday night thru MoveOn...maybe I'll pick up a few tips there.

20. If Immelt is the one who made the decision, he should be Olbermann's "Worst Person"
in the World. But fat chance of that ever happening.
