Were DUers surprised that all three support the tie to allow ROTC |
|
and other military recruits in campuses to Federal funding of the institutions?

3. It wouldn't be a problem when one of them ends the 'illegal occupation'. |
|
In normal times, this isn't a bad thing.

4. I respect people who join the military and put their lives on the line. |

I would hope that our recruits are the best and brightest because I would assume they would do a better job of it.
But then maybe that is just me.
Of course under Bush they are practically cannon fodder. But under the proper Democratic President, they could do really good things for the world.

5. Best and brightest (snort!) |
|
Maybe that's why recruiters hang out in parking lots of malls frequented by poor people with no other options.

6. My point is that I would wish that recruiters would get the |
|
best and brightest instead of having to hang out in malls.
Maybe this is hokey, but when I watch stuff like the Unit or E-Ring or some movie, this looks really hard!
Being a screw up or a ditz endangers peoples lives. So yes, I don't want idiots or thugs out there.

7. BTW Elizabeth Edward's father was CO of Navy ROTC in 60's |
|
I believe he was in charge of all Navy ROTC in 60's before he became the commander to Navy ROTC at UNC and Elizabeth (aka M.B.) also transferred here. I met him a few times because I had several friends under his command.
The way the question was phrased and given the ruling by the Supremes, they would have been stupid to have answered any other way.
