Rove outlines plan to beat top ’08 Dems

Karl Rove provided state Republican officials Wednesday with his strategy for winning the 2008 presidential election, suggesting the party hammer the top Democrats on taxes, immigration, national security and a lack of experience.

Speaking to a group of state GOP executive directors from around the country at the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) winter meeting, Rove said Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) and Barack Obama (Ill.) are beatable.

The former adviser to the president made no mention of former Sen. John Edwards (N.C.), who is trailing both Clinton and Obama in most polls.

<<snip>>

Specifically, Rove hit Clinton for an awkward moment in her campaign last year, when she had trouble answering a question about driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants at the Democratic debate in Philadelphia. “I thought that was an incredible moment,” Rove said. “In the course of 15 minutes, I counted her giving about four different answers.”

<<snip>>

Rove outlined a different strategy regarding Obama that would focus on his limited experience. “He got elected three years ago, and he spent almost the entire time running for president,” Rove said.

<<snip>>

And as Obama’s critics were prepared to do during his Senate race in 2004, Rove said the party could go after Obama for voting “present” and “no” on state legislation that would have stopped a process whereby an infant is left to die after being born alive during a botched abortion procedure.

3. I said this a long time ago. A woman and a man of color are beatable.....
... this country remains too sexist and too racist. However, any time I point out that this is a racist, sexist country, the defenders of these two candidates scream and holler that I'm racist and sexist. Frankly, I don't know what planet they must be living in. ?

6. Because they have a different viewpoint and or experience than you do
There are a lot of variables and demographics that play into this election, and anyone could win.

7. Anyone's beatable.
I don't think we should be making our choices based on the possible responses of bigots and misogynists. We should be working to nominate the best candidate with the best plans and the fewest vulnerabilities.

5. He'll have to roll out Bloomberg in order to beat Edwards. The others he might stand a chance with
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 12:14 AM by EVDebs
This is just like '92. Clinton would have beat Bush handily; then Perot entered the race and it was all in thirds. Same today. Be it Obama or HRC, the GOP candidate would be swamped unless a Bloomberg entry into the race saved face for the GOP upcoming devastating loss. With Bloomberg providing some cover for the Democratic tidal wave by lowering the amount of the losses the GOP stands more of a chance, and so does the globalist/corporatist agenda.

John Edwards could enter the race at that time as an independent and really make it interesting. Or, Democrats could do the smart thing and make him the nominee to begin with. He'll run the table on the GOP no matter WHAT Karl Rove does. Rove knows this too well.

14. Rovian BS. "Obama is a Black Muslim" and "Hillary is a Bitch" are already in the MSM
The GOP has already launched smears against Obama that accuse him of being a Black supremist/terrorist/Muslim who cares more about what happens in Kenya than the US. They have the Israelis lobbying against him.

Hillary is being portrayed as a Lesbian/emasculating female who wants to take control of the country for a bunch of menopaused crazed Hillary clones who will neuter all the men.

The corporate media has blacklisted Edwards, because there is no really effective way to make the GOP base fear him, except to call him a "Red", something they are starting to do. Unfortunately for them, he doesn't look "scary" being a white guy. So, mostly all they can do is marginalize him.

Rove may talk about dainty strategies that the GOP plans to use, but the campaign is going to be all about racism, sexism, religion and class warfare.

20. However, notice Rove
..does not include a strategy based on sexism or racism. The plan is to label Clinton as a 'flip-flopper' and Obama as opportunist with insufficient experience who has been running for President since he was elected to his Senate seat.

19. Krooked Karl is now irrelevant. And will have no input on the Repuke nominee's campaign.
Edited on Thu Jan-17-08 02:21 PM by Carrieyazel
Plus, this "advice" is typical boilerplate that doesn't help anything really.

Repuke nominee will attempt to run away from the clown who cost the GOPukes huge losses in 2006. There will be a new strategist coming out of the woodwork.
